This restaurant is in Ixelles but easily reachable by taxi. It is mainly serving fish and has an oyster bar at its entrance.
........
It's a former old ironmonger’s shop (See all the wooden drawers for different screws and nuts). I like the place for the atmosphere - and sure it has some NICE :-)) statues too!
.........
You may even see a famous actor, pop-star or known politician at "la quinc" such as Gérard Depardieu, Alain Delon, Helmut Kohl, Francis Cabrel, Mc Solar, Plastic Bertrand, Michel Rocard, Michel Leeb, The Gipsy Kings and many others...
.........
Notice: the restaurant has a car-valet-parking!

La Quincaillerie is genuinely unique Bruxellois experience. An earlier work of ace designer Antoine Pinto in 1903, it's a brasserie installed inside a nineteenth century hardware store, a fantastical, multilevel space divided by cast-iron walkways and beams, its walls lined with little wooden drawers. You might end up on a banquette cached in a cozy corner or perched on a balcony with a panoramic view. The first owner of the restaurant an ameriacan in 1978 named the restaurant as "The International Hardware Store" which can be translated as Quincallerie in 1988.Its a good experience...
Favorite Dish:
roast lobster, duck confit with garlic-sautéed potatoes, sole meunière, plateaux de fruits de mer.
I'd been to the Quancaillerie several times when I lived in Brussels, so I was pleased when a friend suggested we meet there. But the service - never their strong point- was abysmal. they directed two people under the same reservation to two different tables and it took forever to find each other; the first course arrived quickly but the second took 40+ minutes; and we ended up cancelling the Tarte Tatin as it also took over 40 minutes to arrive! To make things worse, when I complained to the maitre d', he provided excuses rather than an apology. I wouldn't go again.
Favorite Dish:
Used to be the tarte tatin! and their fish - but this time mine was nothing much. The duck was good, though.
