I know this is one of the things EVERY tourist books lists as a must-see in Brussels, but I highly recommend not ever worrying about it. I honestly had more fun posing in the life-size cut-out of the little boy, where I could stick my head in to replace his.
Check beforehand to see if he will be dressed up in a costume for the day. I've heard his Elvis outfit is highly entertaining.
I recommend just wandering the cobblestone streets surrounding MANNEKEN PIS, as there are many little stores and restaurants you will stumble upon. These are more the heart and joy of Brussels, as you never know what language of the world you will encounter in this city!

I was walking around not even looking for Manneken Pis, and who did I run into? Manneken Pis! This was the lamest thing I ever saw....he wasn't even dressed up!
Even if you are subjected the Manneken Pis's lameness, take a picture for good mesure. Leave a Comment

In Brussels the biggest traps - but fun to visit are 'Mascon ***' (?) a stature in central Brussels of a boy child pissing (complete with running water). The local shop owner dresses the statue in a different outfit daily and then sells hundreds of the outfits to tourists. Makes you wonder how many people in the world have statues of pissing boys in their yard! The second trap is 'The Atom' where you can walk inside a several stories tall atom - Why not?

Mannequin Pis. Everyone gets trapped by this devious little statue in a street corner. This imp with a hyperactive bladder has nothing to offer. I don't why it's so famous. It's free anyway. Leave a Comment

Not really a tourist trap but if you want to get a photo of the Manneken Pis, get there early as believe it or not, it gets very busy with people posing in front of a urinating statue!

So, if you ever wonder around Brussels old city district, and you heard about the Maneken Pis... don`t even bother to try and find it... it`s a total waste of time. It`s a tiny, ugly little monster of a child-statue...
It is much better to visit any of the confectioner`s shops in the area, and try out a praline... Leave a Comment

The Manneken Pis is one of the famous attractions in Belgium. But the Manneken actually is pretty small. There are always a lot of people taking pictures in front of the statue.
