Speculoos, Pain à la grecque, sablés... by Norali In the food section, you already know that beer and chocolate is something you would buy here... of course, if you are fond of them. Other delicacies: cookies like sablés, spéculoos, pain à la Grecque... My favourite shop is Dandoy, near Brussels' Grand-Place. Unfortunately, they don't have any other shop in Belgium (as far as I know). Spéculoos is yummy but my fave is pain à la Grecque... Damn good ! I guess the cookies assortment would be a nice gift for homie.. or dearest colleagues. Whatever ! They are delicious, anyway. The boutique is recognizable at the smell of butter cookies it gives off while wandering Rue au beurre. Entering the shop, you will be greatly surprised by spice odour and this smell of butterbread. I appreciate the display with several piles of cookies, packs.
Anywhere else in Belgium, and in case of tighter budget, you can always buy speculoos in supermarkets (GB-Carrefour; Delhaize; Colruyt). Widespread and usual brands are Lotus (Corona); Delacre. Sometimes, pastry shops have some impressive assortments of cookies too. And there, you can buy speculoos à la découpe.. like a square cake that the seller has to cut in portions.. not precut neither in small pieces as usual.
At Dandoy, If I am not wrong, I remember having paid 17-18 euros for assorted butter cookies (1 kilo) Leave a Comment Theme: Food and DrinkAddress: Dandoy - Rue Charles Buls 14-18 1000 BxlPhone: 0(2) 512 65 88Directions: Rue Charles Buls 14-18 1000 Bxl - Near Grand-PLace

B & B in Belgium by Sandy37 Tongeren flea/antique market. Europes largest on every Sunday from 06.00am till 14.00.
You can buy anything here from large furniture items to the tiniest nick-knack Buyers from Germany,France,Holland,England and of course Belgium can't all be wrong. Also the city cafe's offer a full range of refreshments including many of their 350 locally brewed beers. Snacks and meals all at competetive prices, make this a really enjoyable day out.
You pay what you WANT to pay. Haggle away if you want. Prices are so cheap anyway. Buy quality at affordable prices. by Sjalen All major Belgian cities have shops with a good selection of cartoon things for sale. Some specialise in the magazines themselves, such as Tintin, the Smurfs and more unknown Belgian ones but some also sell sweaters, mugs, decorations and fun things with cartoon figures - not always Belgian ones so you will inavoidably come across a load of Looney Tunes and such non Belgian stuff too... Best of all is the Cartoon Museum shop in Brussels but there is also a good one on the road to Manneken Pis (they know where to rake in the money) and in several towns, such as Brugge, there are special Tintin shops with more exclusive gifts such as printed towels.
My own favourite? Marsupilami!!! Hubba hubba :-))) Leave a Comment Theme: Other

I suggest you to buy a beer t-shirts as a souvenir to your friends. The best beer comes from Belgium so that would be a nice gift or a mememory to yourself from your trip. They have it in all colours and sizes, I guess very large sizez too. Because they have big t-shirts for big beerbellies...LOL The Belgium people drink beer, eat delicious chocolate and eat lots of French fries so I am sure that they have very big t-shirts too.
