Dinant -
The skyline of Dinant, a small town cozied up against the Meuse River, is dominated by its two main buildings: the Citadel, which overlooks the town from a 100 meter cliff, and the Cathedral of Notre Dame, outsized against the surrounding structures and capped by a bronze onion dome. The Citadel, built during the Dutch occupation c. 1820, is the second fortress to sit atop the strategic crest -- an earlier fortification was destroyed by the French in 1703.
A famous native of Dinant is Adolphe Sax, inventor of the saxophone. The Belgian monarch King Albert I perished near Dinant in 1934 when he fell while rock climbing. The commune of Dinant has 13,000 residents, and is 25 kilometers south of the city of Namu

Tongeren - Standbeeld van Ambiorix
The statue of Ambiorix takes a predominant place on the Main Square of Tongeren. Ambiorix was a Gallic chieftain of the Eburones tribe who had settled in the area of Tongeren. He had been favorably treated by the Romans, but he joined another tribe in attacking Julius Caesar's legates. When he heard of Caesar's approach, he fled across the Rhine. The statue was made in 1866 by sculptor Jules Bertin.

Lier - De Nete
The surroundings of Lier are known for vegetable production, but nowadays the city is also known for the presence of industrial sites on the eastern bank of the river Nete. It is also a, although less-known, tourist spot on the road to Antwerp and the "Kempen" region

Luik - Perron
The symbol of the city of Liège is the 'Perron' at the 'Place du Marché'. The monument represents the Province of Liège and the city freedoms. The original Perron had been demolished by Charles the Bold of Burgundy. Mary of Burgundy, however, had it reconstructed. The present Perron, designed in 1697 by Jean Delcour, consists of a octagonal fountain with arcades in which a column, carried by four lions, supports the Three Graces who carry a pine cone.
Close to the Perron is the town hall of Liège, known as 'La Violette'

The "Hotel de ville"(town hall) : Nicknamed "La violette" due to the sign-board of the building, it was built in XIIIth century. The present edifice was rebuilt from 1714 to 1718 by Sarto and Auberat. In the rear, two wings constituted by four spans surround the honour yard which is accessible by a wrought-iron gate dated 1905. The inside was decorated by many Liége artists of the XVIIIth century.

Damme - The church
The tower of the church of Damme reigns over the polderlandscape. The church is one of the most known monuments of the medieval town; this is largely due to her flat tower. Churches with flat towers are unique and practically exclusively can be seen in the polders.

Mechelen - st Rombout
The town of Mechelen (in French : Malines) is situated half-way between Brussels and Antwerp. It has about 75.000 inhabitants.

The landmark of Mechelen is the huge St. Rumbold's tower (in Dutch : St. Romboutstoren). This impressive late-medieval tower can be seen from far away. Standing close to the tower it is immediately clear that the tower was designed to become very high. The construction was stopped in the 16th century because the town of Mechelen had financial problems.

The town of Sint-Niklaas has three rural former communities: Nieuwkerken, Belsele and Sinaai.
Sint-Niklaas is situated centrally in the region Waasland, which in its turn lies centrally in the north of Flanders, in the province Eastern-Flanders (Oost-Vlaanderen). In the north it is limited by the Netherlands. The region is further flanked by the two big industrial cities Antwerp and Ghent, which also have internationally acknowledged seaports. South of the region Waasland lies Brussels, the capital of Europe, only half an hour away.

The motor way E17, that connects Portugal with Sweden, crosses the territory of Sint-Niklaas from east to west. It provides not only an easy connection with Antwerp and Ghent, but also with industrial areas in Germany, the Netherlands and the north of France. The rail infrastructure is excellent, thanks to the railway Antwerp – Ghent. Finally, the Waasland port is a new, growing industrial zone in the north of the region.

The st niklaas church is the oldest church in town and the cipierage of the courthouse is build in 1662 .

Mechelen - IJzeren leen
The town was founded in the early Middle-Ages on the banks of the river Dijle (which also runs through the town of Leuven). It is a pleasant typical Flemish city which belonged to the Duchy of Brabant. The town center is a low-traffic area, which makes Mechelen a pleasant shopping city. On Saturdays the main shopping streets 'Bruul' and 'IJzerenleen' are visited by all the people of the city itself and the neighbouring villages
