Kwak, Karmeliet trapist, Hetzelfde, beer festival by irisbe Belgium beer is bso good you might want to drink more then you can take because there are so many different ones! How to chose? What a difficult task. But we help you with this. There are some organisations who will help you to get to know our beers and they will organise several occasions where you can try them out. This picture was taken on one of the beer tasting festivals in Antwerp. You have one in June and one in November. When do you plan to come?
Drink slowly, enjoy the taste.... and never leave a glass empty nor full! That is what my late uncle said when he died with a smile on his face and his glass in his hands! One of the organisations is Zythos (previous the Objectieve Bierproevers).
go find some friends to share it with! Leave a Comment

Urthel beer by irisbe Belgium beer is so good you might want to drink more then you can take! Don't drink that much that you mistake the bearded creature being the barman... This one doesn't take any orders! I must admit that I still have to try my first Urthel beer. I saw the tap on one of the beer festivals in Antwerp and it looked so great I could not resist taking a picture of it. The Brewery has several beers on sale: A Bock beer, a strong dark ale; a triple like beer called Urthel Hibernus Quentum; and a few more. When I will have tried one I sure will add it on my page. Unfortunately the homepage of the Brewery didn’t work. I hope this is not an omen? Contact of the brewery: Brouwerij De Leyerth / Urthel Krommekeerstraat 21 Ruiselede, 8755 Belgium phone: +32 (0)51 68 89 99 Official website.
Drink slowly, enjoy the taste.... and never leave a glass empty nor full! That is what my late uncle said when he died with a smile on his face and his glass in his hands! Have a look at the website of Urthel and find all the varieties they have.
Drink water and regret afterwards you didn't tasted the beer Leave a Comment

Belgium beer is so good you might want to drink more then you can take! This happens when you look too deep in that Delirium glass yes sorry for you but it IS empty!), the pink elephant comes alive and you will feel like the bar is moving so you hang on to it to keep it steady... Never it occured to you it was you waggling a bit ??? and besides, it is not nice to mistake the bartender for a pink elephant? 1. I drank this Delirium Tremens already some years ago. It is tasteful but not really my most favorite beer. However the Noel edition was a nice suprise. 2. A Delirium tremens before Christmass This is one of the beers I tried out 2nd January 2005 :) it is a seasonable beer as it is the Christmass edition of the Delirium Tremens "The Delirium tremens Noel" It was very tasty, not too sweet. Well a good beer you ought to find out by tasting ! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Contact information: Brouwerij Huyghe Brusselse Steenweg 256 Melle, 9090 Belgium phone: +32 (0)92 52 15 01 Official website

Belgium beer is so good you might want to drink more then you can take! Palm will turn you calm! 1. Palm : special amber coloured beer with a fruity aroma balancee between sweet and bitter Well they don't turn me calm, as it was one of my favorite beers, I started to boycot them recently because they bought the Gouden Boom and you can tell eversince that brewery is suffering (the brew shop doesn't have all the stuff anymore, some of the beers are bottled at Palm... and there is this tendence to commercialise tastes) I hope the new managament will realize this is not the right way to please beer lovers! 2. Brugs Tarwe beer brewed for Alken. Some prefere Brugs blonds! The term "white" has traditionally been applied to wheat beers as they are very pale in colour and may, have an intentional natural cloudiness. Belgian White beers are very traditional brews. At one stage not popular anymore and threatened with extinction, they now enjoy a huge revival in popularity, especially among young people Brouwerij Palm NV Steenhuffeldorp 3 Londerzeel, 1840 Belgium phone: +32 (0)52 30 94 81 E-mail : directie@palm-nv.be Or visit their Website.

Belgium beer is so good you might want to drink more then you can take! This is absolutely one of my favorites! Orval trappist beer. It has a very strong stuborn taste and that is what makes it different from any others. Worth trying! I have visited the monastery, the ruins and the brewery in 2003. You can have a look at my Orval page. ORVAL Abbaye Notre-Dame d'Orval B-6823 VILLERS-DEVANT-ORVAL Tel. : +32 061/31.12.61 Fax : +32 061/31.29.27 E-mail : brasserie@orval.be Website : www.orval.be No need to go into detail, the website of this monasterian brewery is so divert and detailed that you will find all useful information there.
Drink slowly, enjoy the taste.... and never leave a glass empty nor full! That is what my late uncle said when he died with a smile on his face and his glass in his hands! (woww this guy has died a dozen times by now!) I will have to look for another story soon! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ah well I never believed the story of the frog that got kissed and turned into a prince... but I do believe the story of the fish that brought back the ring that fell into the well, the story of Orval... The monastery was born of an act of gratitude: Mathilda was a widow and her wedding ring had accidentally fallen into the fountain (source). She prayed to the Lord to have it returned and at once a trout rose to the surface with the precious ring in its mouth. Mathilda was so happy and exclaimed : 'Truly this place is a Val d'Or'! " Out of gratitude, she decided to establish a monastery on the site. ok ... if you don't believe that story `-) Here is the backside of the Orval glass to show you the fish and the ring... although... to me it rather looks like a fish with a huge piercing!!!
1.Find out if this story is true and try doing this by throwing your jewelery piece into the water. 2. Visit my uncles graves and if you are lucky, you might hear him sing `-) Leave a Comment

1. I tried Moeder Overste (Mother superior) a couple of years ago. It is a nice copper coloured triple like beer but it didn't left a big impression on me. I think I found the taste too sweet for me. It is not that I disliked it, but I rather would try out another beer then drink this a second time. 2. Another beer I tried was Floreffe Triple. It is unfiltered beer and that is why it doesn't show transparant in the glas. It was a nice beer to try out. 3. Barbar is another beer I tried out years ago. It is a beer that is brewed and sweetened with honey. It was refreshing, yet not my favorite taste. But sur don't let it withhold you from trying it out. Website of the brewery. Adress: Chemin du Croly 52 Rebecq-Quenast, 1430 Belgium Tel: +32 (0)67 67 07 66
Drink slowly, enjoy the taste.... and never leave a glass empty nor full! That is what my late uncle said when he died with a smile on his face and his glass in his hands! Lucky guy! He just missed the sad news the barrel was empty at the moment he was about to order his very last beer...
mmmm I would start drinking water again if I were you Because this beer might make you feel superior `-) Leave a Comment

1.This La Chouffe blond ale beer is so good you might want to drink more then you can take! Don't drink as much to the point you will see real midgets with red noses! You can have La Chouffe from draft (Mmmm) or it is sold also in 750 ml bottles for you to share with your beloved one :) that is... if you want to share this at all and not want to keep it to yourself! 2.La vieille Salme. We drank this beer on the terrace of the pub attached to the brewery in Acchouffe. We had been here 1,5 year earlier on a brewery visit to meet up with Chris (Christian) who happened to be a great fellow and nice host and a proud brewer! 3.Another menace at Achouffe! Kwelchouffe beer! If you drink too much of this beer, this blond little menace will come and hunt your sleep d'Achouffe Achouffe 32 B-6666 ACHOUFFE Tel. : +32 061/28.81.47 Fax : +32 061/28.82.64 E-mail : info@achouffe.be Website All useful info on the webpage and don't miss to hear the Lachouffe song! a fait divers... The village Achouffe, where the brewery is located, had the postcode "6666" and that means a few times 666, which is the number of the beast! And believe me or not (you better do!) but because of this it costed a lot of problems to get the permission to import this beer in USA! The beer exported is in 750 ml printed bottles (no label sticked to the bottle) due to some regulations abroad.
Drink slowly, enjoy the taste.... and never leave a glass empty nor full! That is what my late uncle said when he died with a smile on his face and his glass in his hands.

Belgium beer is so good you might want to drink more then you can take! 1. It's a Duvel!!! Don't sell your soul to a Duvel! Duvel is a high fermentation beer that is made using the finest barley malt and hops. No additives or preservatives are added. It is not pasteurised and therefore entirely pure and natural beer. Secondary fermentation and long maturation take place in the bottle, giving the beer its highly distinctive taste. That is why you should never keep Duvel in your fridgerator, unless just before you decide to drink it cold. If stored too long in the cold the living yeast might die. When poured into the traditional cup-shaped sampling glass, the beer foams into a generous layer of froth. Duvel has a fine balance between a fine aroma and subtly bitter taste . 2. Maredsous from the tap! Not only it is a cheese named Maredsous... but there is also the beer brewed at the Duvel factory named this way. The one in the picture is a dark sweet beer of 8 degrees, a bit malty but also a bit sweet to my taste. But not bad at all :) 3. A vedett: a pilslike beer of a higher category then the Bel pils. Sold in a green bottle, same shape as the Duvel bottle, but in a small tall glass and a little bit to small to get all the beer in. It is possible to do so, but still.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~r /> Visits to the brewery are possible but only during the weekdays and on some evenings. You need to be in group but there might be a possibility if you call them to arrange a visit joining a group.
