Ne Slijkneus (mud nose) by irisbe Don't drink too much and become a snoopy dog mud nose! Ah you laugh with this but this beer is called "Ne Slijkneus" and translated that is Mud nose. I liked it very much :) I don't know if it was brewed temporary or if it still exists as it was in 2000 something I tried it out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This organic beer is brewed by Brewery Den Hopperd, Madestraat 7 Herselt-Ramsel, 2230 Belgium phone: 32 16/68 09 78
Drink slow, enjoy the taste.... and never leave a glass empty nor full! Leave a Comment

Kriek Geuze St Louis by irisbe Tutti frutti and also very sweet. I would say it is nice for the taste if you are a sweet kriek lover but because it will remain sticky in your mouth I would not suggest this as a good drink to ease your thirst on a hot day. But just as a substitute for a sweet dessert :) why not? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Brouwerij Van Honsebrouck N.V. 1. Brugse Triple from late brewery De Gouden Boom. So sad the consortiums of Palm et compagnie have dismantled this excellent (and last!) brewery in Bruges. Really a shame! I had the priviledge to have seen it still operational during its last but one year. My uncle was so kind to give me and my American friends a private tour and introduced us to the people in the laboratory. Now the only thing left is a brewery museum. The beer is brewed elsewhere. Brugge Tripel was awarded the Gold Medal at the prestigious contest Monde Sélection Brussels during 3 consecutive years: 1996; 1997 and 1998. Lets hope that the take-overs will respect the beer as it is when brewed in the Gouden boom. Too many breweries with only eye for money and less for artisanal brewing are making tastes of beers more commercial, often more sweet. I hope Brugse Tripel with its full malt taste will escape this cruel destiny! 2. Some prefere Brugs blonds! The term "white" has traditionally been applied to wheat beers as they are very pale in colour and may, have an intentional natural cloudiness. Belgian White beers are very traditional brews. At one stage not popular anymore and threatened with extinction, they now enjoy a huge revival in popularity, especially among young people. 2. Brugse Blond. Very tasty and refreshing beer! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ De Gouden Boom Langestraat 45 8000 Brugge Belgium Phone: (050)33 06 99 Fax: (050)33 46 44 E-mail: info@degoudenboom.com

You should not bother visiting the battlefield at Waterloo unless you are a serious military history buff. There really is not that much of the actual battlefield that has been well preserved. The various farms that are still standing will mean nothing to you unless you are aware of the blow by blow action of the battle.
For those familiar with the battle, there are some interesting sites that you can visit. These include the Visitor Centre has an audio visual presentation about the battle. You can also climb up the Lion Mound where you can get a picture of the whole battlefield. Unfortunately many of buildings that played a role in the Battle of Waterloo are privately owned. La Haie-Sainte cannot be visited at all. The Hougoumont, a fortified farmhouse, is also privately owned but you can wander the grounds. Just do not enter the house and help yourself to tea. Brussles by dr.firas Again there are malls inside the big railstations such as Gare du Nord of Brussles, you can find everything you need, but again the prices could be high for the same stuffs that could be cheaper in other normal shops in Brussles! Leave a Comment
