It is time for a Leffe blonde

by irisbe

I am not such a big fan of Leffe Blonde because it is too sweet for my taste. It is a very commercial taste so I am sure there will be lots of other people left who will like it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~Leffe is brewed under the label of the Abbaye de Leffe but is actually an InBev beer. This means you will have too look for the information at the InBev website. Drink slow, enjoy the taste....and never leave a glass empty nor full! That is what my late uncle said when he died with a smile on his face and his glass in his hands!

Vietnamese visa ripp off

by 1W1V

As there is no VN embassy in Jordan, I decided to pick-up the visa in Brussels. The consular section of the VN embassy in Brussels in only open on Mon, Wed and Fri from 14.00 till 16.00 !!!!The price for a visa is one month one entry 62 Euros (approx 80 USD). If you want a three months multiple entry, the price is 124 Euros. The time needed to get your visa approuval is one week. You need it sooner, you have to add an extra 25 euros. So imagine if you need a same day multiple entry tourist visa, it will cost you 149 Euros, cash only.I believe it is a ripp-off for a country who wants to catch up a part tourist traveling in SE Asia. Just buy your visa somewhere else, in Bangkok for example !

Beware of the Beer!drinkers `-)

by irisbe

Belgium beer is bso good you might want to drink more then you can take because there are so many different ones! How to chose? What a difficult task. But we help you with this. There are some organisations who will help you to get to know our beers and they will organise several occasions where you can try them out. This picture was taken on one of the beer tasting festivals in Antwerp. You have one in June and one in November. When do you plan to come? Drink slowly, enjoy the taste....and never leave a glass empty nor full! That is what my late uncle said when he died with a smile on his face and his glass in his hands! One of the organisations is Zythos (previous the Objectieve Bierproevers). go find some friends to share it with!

Airport names

by kbl

When travelling to Belgium, you'll find several airports with names that may give you a very wrong idea about their locations:Brussels INT & Brussels SOUTHOK: there is only ONE airport in the Brussels region. This is the Brussels International Airport (Located in the town called Zaventem). From this airport you will have about 10 to 15 kilometers by taxi or 15 minutes by train to get to the centre of Brussel. The Brussels South airport is not at all in Brussels. It is located in Charleroi. This city is located at 70 kilometers from Brussels. Outside busy hours, a car will do about an hour to travel from Brussels International Airport to Charleroi. So don't belive you can switch planes easy between both of them.Giving the airport of Charleroi its new name "Brussels South" was an idea of Ryanair. They can sell way more tickets to Brussels then to Charleroi... Take time to get from...

by Bibike

Do not have confidence in the weather predictions : in Belgium the weather can change in a second, the temperature rises and falls, the sun continuously plays seek and hide, and rain just might fall on your head while your neighbour stays dry !

Food, food, food

by Norali

This is, for me, the tourist trap n°1 while visiting Belgium: food. I include there the products but also the sense of tradition, hospitality and quality. Most of times, quality products that are sold to both locals and tourists alike are the results of decades of commitment in quality. Indeed, locals really enjoy quality food and tend to make some extra whenever possible: a delicious ballotin, some special beer, the cookies, the vast arrays of cheese and cooked meat..etc... This quality thing is backed by the locals' requirements in what they are ready to pay. Belgians are not greedy, know about quality and enjoy making the little effort to afford the products for special events. That's Belgium, food is taken seriously.Plus, products as chocolate sell well in windowdisplay. To the latter are applied the themes of seasons, no wonder tourists visiting the country in summer would know a...

WC closed for no reason!

by dr.firas

First of all, you have to know, there are no WC unpaid, you have to pay everytime you go!but one tourist trap is possible, you can go followng the picture, and then you reach the WC and it is closed for no reason, just like here as you can see in the picture! I really dunno, maybe my only advice is: Don't drink lots of Beer, heh but that's impossible when you are in Belgium!

Shops in railstations

by dr.firas

Again there are malls inside the big railstations such as Gare du Nord of Brussles, you can find everything you need, but again the prices could be high for the same stuffs that could be cheaper in other normal shops in Brussles!
