KIDNAPPED

by Aang

"OK," says Myrianne, "A quiz about famous Belgians. Michael Nihoul.""He plays for Anderlecht?" "No. He was the guy who allegedly organised orgies in a Belgian chateau. Orgies allegedly attended by a former European commissioner, judges, senior politicians, lawyers and policemen." "And?" "He was one of the accomplices of you-know-who." "Marc Dutroux." "The subject of the book called 'The X-files: What Belgium Was Not Supposed to Know About the Dutroux Affair.' Now, next question. Who is Regina Louf?" "Famous cyclist." "No. Regina Louf testified to the authorities about orgies at which she allegedly saw children tortured and murdered. The allegation in the X-files is that, at Black masses, attended by members of Belgium's elite, children were sacrificed." "Is she taken seriously?" "At the village of Forchies-la-Marche, the police investigated an institute of Black Magic. They dug up human...

watch your bag

by Martino100

When you're in a big city you have to watch out for pickpocket. before you know it you can have lost everything. So never take to much money with you or important documents when you go to a big city, you can better leave it in your room.

DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!

by lmkluque

One evening a friend and I went out for dinner and a few drinks. In the car on the way, he said, "Don't worry, I'm BOB." I didn't understand what he meant, his name wasn't Bob. He tried to explain what seemed to be the designated driver idea. I agreed he could be Bob--it was his car and I wasn't going to drive anyway. Later that evening the waiter served our drinks on the coaster pictured here: Then I understood about BOB. "HERE IS THE PARTY: BOB IS DRIVING. WE ALL HAVE A BOB IN OURSELVES." (Bob for the men, Bobette for the women)

Leuven is a very save town, looking at my own experiences. it is a typical student place, so the only thing that can be very annoying is a drunken student who is singing at 5 o'clock (in the middle of the night!)

Actually, Brussels is a very safe city. Even the beggars keep their distance from you - they just sit quietly by the road and ignore you if you ignore them (unlike London where you practically need a hockey bat!)I wandered around Brussels at 2 am on a Friday night and felt perfectly safe (of course maybe I was being foolish but I lived to tell the tale!)
