Kupres Things to Do

Znacajan je nalaz iz ranog broncanog doba s Kupreškog polja, radi se o prapovijesnom grobu sa pokojnikom sahranjenim u drveni sanduk.Najvrjedniji nalaz muzeja je tumul (zemljani grob) s Kupreške visoravni koji datira od 1660. prije Krista, a smješten je u arheološkoj zbirci.

The skeleton is found in one of the many tumulus in Kupres ! Famous archeologist ALOJZ BENAC found it 1975.

It is kept in Franjevaèki muzej i galerija Gorica - Livno.

The most important activity for a human being is to walk***to take a walk just 10 minutes is so important for our health ***so in Kupres you will be surprised when you take a walk, an ordinary walk will open your eyes to the beautiful nature all around, especially in winter when everything is snow-covered***

This is the old catholic church ruined by Serbian soldiers during the war in Kupres 1992-1995.
There are no words to describe this act and even if Croatian catholics buid a new church just on the other side of the street, 50 meters from the ruines, these ruines will stay here and be the testimony of all the suffering of innocent people during the war.

This is the new Church of the HOLY FAMILY in Kupres. It is just a few meters from the old one, crushed in war by Serbian soldiers during the war in Bosnia 1992-1995, when Kupres was occupied by Serbian army and Bosnian Croatians and Bosniaks were forced to leave their homes. When the Croatian people came back from the exile they built this wonderful new church of Holy Family with their love, money and volunteering, with the help of many friends and donators.

I found out today that I picked a rare flower (lat. Gentiana Verna- in JAPAGE-KUPRES this summer ...I din't know that but when I put a picture of it on my pAge, somebody told me that it is protected...so KUPRES is enriched with rare plants and we locAls don't know much about it because we see these plants often and there are too many to know everything ...so for all lovers of horticulture - visit Kupres and EXPLORE beAutiful nature

there are a lot of people from DALMaTIa who have cottages here and they don't miss to spend their holidays here in kupres and the reason for their returning it is simple-WONDERFUL NaTURE, the majority of locAtions still untouched by humans and technology ...if you need peace And tranquility in winter, or cool air in summer, colorful woods in autumn, and beautiful flowers in spring you should definitely visit kupres...
