Visoko Local Customs

Vast majority of people here are Muslims like myself. Not all are practicing or pious but there is a higher percentage here than in Sarajevo who are. Some things it does not matter if you are practicing or not...do not ever wear shoes inside the house of a Muslim, it is very offensive. You should take them off at the door. Other things depend on the person specifically. If you know somebody is practicing Muslim, do not offer them alcohol, pork (many non-practicing Muslims still stay away from this too), or things that you know Muslims do not partake of. Do not worry this is not Saudi Arabia, so if you still want to get a beer in a restaurant or ham on your pizza you of course will have that most places and will find many local people joining you too.
