Try something local. From Banja Luka’s Brewery. The “Nektar” (“Nectar”) Beer. It is very popular in whole Republic of Srpska and Serbia and Montenegro. A bottle (0,33 l) of it, in coffee bars in Gospodska Street, coasts 2,5 Convertible Mark (1,95 KM = 1 Euro).

During the former Yugoslavia, the boys’ story was that the most beautiful women in it were in Split (Croatia) and Banja Luka. Trust me, it is true. Women from Banja Luka are really beautiful and very charming. Also, proportion is, they say, 7 women on one man. Gentlemen, this is MUST COME location for you.

Han or Konak, two different names of Turkish origin meaning hotel and restaurant. Usually in the basement there was a huge restaurant with the small windows on the top of the walls. The top floor served as a hotel, a kind of bad&breakfest accomodation.

Jajce was the royal town of Croatian kings in the medieval times. It was the seat of Kotromanic royal family and the king Tvrtko.
There are still remains of the medieval castle town which stands on the top of the hill that dominates the town. Unfortunately, the castle is in pretty bad conditions now and looks very neglected.

Plivsko jezero

Plivsko jezero, the Plivsko Lake, is situated just a few kilometres from the town of Jajce. It is one of the most beautiful lakes in whole Bosnia and Herzegovina. There are couple of restaurants and hotels situated on the lakeshore offering pretty good service for the tourists. It is idyllic and nice place and I recommend you to spend few days here.

The river of Pliva flows right in the middle of the town creating an stunning waterfalls a must see. This is the most attractive sight of Jajce.
The waterfalls is just a foot from the city gate and you can approach to it very easily.

The water of Pliva river is pretty clean and recommendable for swiming, although you have to take care on whirpools. This is the spot which precedence the big waterfalls of Pliva and the favorite location for the swimers.

This is the look of the opposite side of the city gate. The building which stands next to the gate is so called "konak". In the medieval times it served as a hotel and restaurant for those who entered in the town after the sunset.

This is the old city gate, a part of fortification, which leads you into the old core of the town of Jajce. Above the gate, there is the medieval defending tower built in order to protect the entrance into the town.
