Vrbas is very fast river. And it has beautiful green colour. During the summer time, lot of people is trying to refresh their selves in it. In some parts, it is very deep so boys are jumping in it from the city bridges.
Medieval Castle is one of Banja Luka’s main attractions. Located on the bank of Vrbas River, it gave specific charm to the city. Unfortunately, during the civil war 1992 – 1995, and after it, nothing was done on it to make it more beautiful.
Banski Dvor (Governor’s Palace) is beautiful building in the very center of the city. National Assembly is in side, such as concert hall, gallery, state television, restaurant… Most of the main cultural and political happening takes place in side of the building.
Banja Luka’s Orthodox Church,...
Banja Luka’s Orthodox Church, the 'Holy Three' or 'Saborni Hram', was the pride of our city when it was built from 1925 to 1929. Officially sanctified in 1939, the cathedral was completely destroyed in 1941 by bombardment. A new church was built in replica but on a smaller scale, and in a different location.
The recent war saw the end of Banja Luka's Muslim sites, and Fehredija, Europe's oldest mosque.
National Bank of Republic of Srpska
National Bank of Republic of Srpska is just next to Banski Dvor. Very nice building with the fantastic statues in front of it. Statues show Serbian national folklore clothes.
The City Hall
City Hall is located just opposite of Banski Dvor. It is almost twins building with it. All city departments are inside.
Near the castle you find this crystalclear deepblue-green river, where people are fishing in the center of the city. There's a restaurant in the castle too.
You can buy everything here. Turkish soap, vegetables, rare wildbirds, dead domestic birds (it means chicken), bosnian ethnopop tapes, golden buddha, second hand clothes.
