Monument to King Peter I
The monument existed before the Second World War and Ustashes moved it, in 1941, harnessed local Serbs. First non-communist local government put it back in 1991. The monument is initiated to King Peter I - Liberator, Serbian king who liberated south Slav countries of Austro-Hungarian and Turkish occupation in the Firs World War. It is situated in front of the City Hall.
They are very friendly and polite. Always ready to make some barbeque or things like this. No matter of weather conditions. But, be careful, my Godchild is working for the FBI. Don't talk to him too much. Otherwise, it could be used against you :)
The date of foundation is hidden somewhere in the shadows of the far past, before the fatal cataclysm which the Serbian people experienced with the coming of the Turks. National tradition, not without reason, sets the date of foundation as beging during the Nemanich period, or to be more exact, during the region of King Dragutin, who rules these areas as "King of Srem". The chronicles of monasteries Tronosha and Pech say Dragutin's sons Vladislav and Uroshitz built it. The present church of monastery Tavna, built in the same place as the original, is without doubt older than the other monastic churches in the region, Ozren, Lipljen, Vozuca and Gostovic. Monastery Tavna was damaged in the first years of Turkish rule, but was restored by the people under the leadership of haiduks (anti-Turkish highwaymen). This was not the only time monastery was damaged. Later, during the Turkish period there were several attacks on monastery, because haiduks were hiding in it. Later, in the World Wide Wars, Tavna was destroyed, but people and monks from the village used to rebuild the church of the monastery.

Etno selo STANISICI
Ethno village "Stanišiæ" takes us back in time making us closer to nature and our ancestors, and making us admire the simplicity of rural life of the past. Here one rests his eyes and soul, he becomes kinder, while the babbling of the brook and the sound of the watermill make him wiser.
In March 2003 the village was founded. In the beginning there were a tavern, a brook and a pond. That was just a part of the idea that has been realised slowly and gradually. The process also included collecting antiques especially from the village of Brgule near the town of Vareš in the central Bosnia. The village presents a central Bosnian household with a house, dairy store, mill and stale. What has been also made so far is the open-air part of the tavern (the number of indoor and outdoor seats is 350) and two village houses (cottages) which provide for lodging.
Five more houses, a big pond, an old stone bridge and the church are being built.
The village is located in the north-eastern part of Bosnia, and the Republic of Srpska, near the town of Bijeljina.
