Doboj Favorites

Favorite thing: I love tradition ethnic music.
Doboj is today famous as city of culture.
Ethno music group "Iva" (Serbian Cyrillic: етно група "Ива") was established in 2003th in Doboj as part of town choir. Today group act as an independent ensemble.
Name of group "Iva" come from the healing grass that grows on Mount Ozren.
Creator and artistic director is prof. Mr Sasa Pavlovic.
Today, the singing group has 15 members.
They perform in several festivals in region. The biggest success they have on music festival in Bijeljina where they won one gold and one silver medal.
Ethno music group "IVA" preserve the traditional Serbian melodies, Serbian spiritual songs in their original form, through modern arrangements in a style known as jazz fusion.

Favorite thing: This is not exactly the FAVORITE thing , but it is deffinately IMPORTANT thig for people to see, and you can see it all over the town ... Almost on every building, damages ... from war.
Maybe it will heal in time , but maybe they should stay there as a reminder of what war really is The Destruction for all sides that take part in it ...

Favorite thing: You can not tell where the car is from if you look at the licence plates. There are two parts of Bosnia: Republic of Srpska and Croatian -Muslim federation. Official alphabet in Republic of Srpska is cyrillic and Latin alphabet in Federation. So the thing is that they are using ONLY the letters that look the same in cyrilllic and in latin alphabet for the licence plates .

Favorite thing: Bosnian official currency is Konvertibilna Marka , or just MARKA ... 1 marka is equal to 1,96 Euro . But you can use euro as well , evrywhere you want , so you mighy not need to change it .

If you look closely to the pic , you ll see two pairs of the same bills , but with different pictures on them. One pic is for the Republic of Srpska , and another is for Croatian -Muslim Federation... you can use them equally .

Favorite thing: from the top of the fortress.

Fondest memory: Doboj is small towm , with maybe 50 000 citizens in Bosnia , Republic of Srpska.
It is growing into a modern town, as you can see on pic :)

Favorite thing: You can see those all over the town ...They have flags at the back of the car , so you can see from which country the soldiers are from.

Favorite thing: This is the roof of the Fortress tower . It still has hole from the war on it .

Fondest memory: Again not the foundest memory ... :(
