Saint Sava street is main street in Doboj. It is a lively center of Doboj.
The street is a surrounding with wide pedestrian areas that follow it. It is nice to spend some time here day and night all year long. Main shopping zone is here and you can find some interesting cafes and fast food where you can taste local kebabs and pies and drink coffee or tee. Most local government and important building are here. I suggest to follow a wider path on right side of main street, where are shops, cafes and famous Ćiro monument. It best to explore by foot.
Doboj dont have a traditional center square or some monument to immortalize some national icon for central square itself. It don't have a square at all. So, center or downtown of Doboj is actually one large area that consist of one part of main street, National heroes park and building around it. The real example of nostalgic architecture are some buildings around a park that become a Doboj simbols. One of them is like a traditional big simple and socialistic style shopping mall that used to be call "Robna kuća Beograd" because of name of company that own that place till the few years back when this mall become recognizable by it current sign "Konzum" (Croatian company).
Then, old fashion hotel "Bosnia" now is completely reconstructed and known as a hotel "Park". Next to hotel is Cultural and Educational Center Doboj with art gallery. And mostly of building of local government.
Plato in front of shopping mall during big public celebrations serve as public stage. So, that is place you definitely place to visit during New Years (international and orthodox) and during celebration of Day of Doboj municipality.
The Doboj center is actually nice walking distance and people don't have to wait official closing the main street to have a nice time here. Relaxation in cafe bars on wide pedestrian zone along the main street and shops with lot of various goods for mostly affordable price. That is something that people do here all year long.

A cinema, educational center and an art gallery are big segment of Center.
Previos or after visiting some of interesting events here you can relax in two cafe bar in Center.
Zanatski centar (literary translation is crafts center) is real oasis of relaxation and a break. In closes to City park within high buildings blocks are place with numerous cafe bars, pastry shop, restaurants and nights club. Especially is interesting main open zone between two residents buildings blocks (consist with several residential buildings and huge concrete upper garden that connect those building, down are a numerous different business premises). There numerous open garden side by side and closed spaced.
In late evening is especially active zone with music and lively chatting. Cafes are usually serve a coffee, tee and beer (popular from wider region of ex-Yugoslavia) and rakia and alcohol in general. Prices are average and same in all those cafes. Many of them have a big screen plasma and here is a very crowd during popular sports events. Even if you a not a sports fan you can seat in the same bars, there a lot a space and you can have a quiet conversation with yours friend here.
Especially during summer is nice here.
After walking around and discover narrow area of Doboj, Zanatski centar is best place to rest.
During autumn and winter garden is not place to seat. Even during days in autumn is not something interesting to see especially with all leafage around, inside is completely different story. Day is still young and in twilight center take a different colors and sounds.

There is another orthodox Church "growing " in the center of Doboj, so I hope it will be finished, before my next visit.
Well the thing with this fortress is weird LOL all people I asked about it said the similar story , that they are not sure who made it ... It might be done as a defence fortress from Turkish invaders in Middle Age , or Turks made it when they ruled here ...Too bad no one takes care about it , and you cant buy postcards or souveneers there , also on guide:(
But the view is great !!!!
Gradnja srednjovijekovne dobojske tvrdjave zapoceta je u prvim decenijama 14.vijeka,vjerovatno u vrijeme bana Stjepana 2 Kotromanica.
This is the place where you can see kids playing , people walking and relaxing ... It is very beautiful especially in fall , the colors are screeming to be pictured :)
