With no particular planning or advance restaurant booking and being a group of 12 and waiting for more to arrive we opted for a picnic in the local park, before the kids get run over in the parking lot. One of the nicest and cleanest parks I have ever seen in this country and on top of it all no dog crap like in all the German parks I know. Before settling in send somebody down to to the main road to pick up burek and pita and the party can begin.

Like in most countries south of Austria you will find stray dogs all over the place. They are tolerated and often even fed (at least when they are still cute). We almost ran over this dog and some other puppies in Foca going to the Tara river camp. On our way back we saw her again and she hitched a ride with us back to Munich. Of course we asked a man on a nearby porch "can we take it", the answer was "sure, I got 3 more up here for you if you want". With all the shots, some medication for worms and a chip implant and a passport type document you will have to pay around 30 Euros at the local state vet. Taking the dog home without the paper work is illegal and the shots will cost more at home. Please make sure you really want to take care of an animal for the next decade or two before you do this!
