Modrica Tourist Traps
Higher prices for tourist
When my family come to restaurant Dvorac owner ask our group is there any foreigner within our group. We naive said yes. It is not unusually here in Modrica to be visited by foreigners because we have very numerous workers abroad and all of them have friends or spouses that are foreigners.
We get very high cost for lunch for truth very large group of people. For examples, one bottle mineral water of 1.5 l cost 6 KM (less then 3 euros) and that is very expensive.
Unique Suggestions: Let your local host take order.
Fun Alternatives: In any bakery there are local food. I didn't notice there double prices. Learn few words of Serbian language at least name of your order: "burek" (pie with meat), "sirnica" (pie with cheese) and "krompirusha" (pie with potato), "jogurt" (yogurt).
Prices are indicate. And say: "hvala" (thank you) and "dovidjenja" (good by), if you like!Related to:

Modrica Off The Beaten Path
The Hill call Majna
The Hill Majna rises not far from center. In fact just follow the main street and only pedestrian zone in town and about 300 m far is road that lead you to the small hill above town. Interesting is that I found out about this hill on my last visit (2015). Namely, Modriča is on footsteps of Trebava hill complex but I didn't know about others formation here.
The steep is not too exhausted at all. After few minutes you will across on intersection of two roads. One is good and lead to popular hotel and restaurant Majna on right side. On left nice stone road lead up between nice houses.
Behind hotel Majna there is small picnic area. In time of my first visit I was saw signs of reconstructed of this area. Some trees was cut and post sings and benches with tables. One part with barbecue and small summer house is reserved to guests of hotel Majna.
In upper area of this area is small path that lead to mostly pine forest.
From above is nice view over town and further valley Posavina. In summer garden of restaurant Majna you could rest and enjoy.Related to:
