Because taxis are so incredibly inexpensive in Sarajevo, there is the possibility to take them straight from the airport/bus/train depots to your hotel. So you don't have to worry so much about minimal luggage since you don't necessarily have to carry it long stretches of time.
Good shose are a must, of course, as is warm weather in the winter. It snows in Sarajevo and even around March and April it can get windy and nippy. Bosnians are notoriously good dressers, so keep that in mind when packing your suitcase.
You'll find pharmacies around, as well as various grocery stores where toiletries can be purchased. If you are female and think you might be on your period, youmight want to carry a couple extra tampons if there is one brand that you really prefer. I have had a hard time finidng them with applicators over there.
Film is readily available for purchase, although more expensive than what you might be used to at home. Leave a Comment

It was very hot when we visited in June. We were happy we brought light shirts and shorts ,that are easy to wash in a sink and dry overnight. There are shops where you can buy moistly everything but cabs are expensive and who wants to spend all day tracking around trying to shop for basics.

Evevrything you need you can find here too. So no big and full bags,lol.
Summer is verry hot so take only light clothes but one jacket will be good for suprising weather. Wintter could be verry cold and snowed, take good shoes and warm clothes.
Nothing special, we don´t have any dangerous illness.

It's good to bring a longer skirt or pants if you are a woman, even in the summer. There seems to be a larger number of practicing Muslims, and people are more covered up then in neighboring Croatia. Leave a Comment

I thought the choice of guide books for the city might be limited, and I was right. I chose the Bradt guide on Bosnia & Herzegovina. First time I'd bought anything by that publisher (I'm a DK Eyewitness Travel buyer usually).
I liked it a lot. In large part this was due to the writing style of the author Tim Clancy. The only disappointing element was the maps - could have been better.
Recommended anyway!

as much as it is neccessary-this is what we always say when taking off to a pleace, right?;)
WINTER-warm jackets,sweathers,good shoes for snow, possibly the not slippery ones as sometimes it gets icy wwoah!, a cap, scarf,gloves - all can be bought around but untill then you might become a penguin...and this is not what we wish for u here ;)
SUMMER-light close as anywhere where tepm. is daily 30 and more celsius, and nites depends-sometimes light blouse needed above the short sleaves just in case
SPRING/FALL-started raining heavily as those climate, global changes started taking place - so, as if u go to UK in spring, even early summer:)
all can be bought here
only if taking some medication on prescribtion-take it with you
in general, without a stamp of a doc it is very hard to buy:antibiotics, psychiatri drugs, heavy anesthetics...i think that's it

there are swimming pools-for the summer&winter time
there are sport fields for tennis, football, etc etc etc
camping-nature in Bosnia is pretty indeed, so if u like to camo-yes take that with u
ppl here still are not 100% used to see your pet in all places, so...you can take ur dog with you but check the hotel and places if the 'animal' is allowed. no big worries as i take my cosmic love, pekineese, around a lot...sometimes, though, i have to change the caffee's garden;) -sometimes, not on a regular base
