Ferhadia Street, Sarajevo
This central pedestrian street in the heart of the Old Town is well known for the 26 people killed and 108 wounded on May 27th 1992, by the Serbian forces. These civilians were in line waiting for bread.
Most of the landmarks of the city are around this street and it is a perfect place to meet friends.
Ferhadija is the main shopping street of Sarajevo. The pedestrianised street is full with shops selling clothes, shoes, everything you need in a shop street. There are also all of the major banks as well as a lot of cafes to be found here. This is the street to see and be seen it seems.
From Bašcaršija you enter into this street and you feel like in a different world, it feels like travelling from Istanbul to Vienna with only making one step.
It is the commercial heart of the City. Packed with the shops, restaurants, buisness officies... I enjoyed the people watching and drinking my coffie.. Great place to soak the athnosphere of the city.
