Take a walk, and snoop around Bascarsija Directions: Downtown

Take a walk, also, through the Bistrik area, 'lower' part if nothing else. Apart from the fact that Pivnica is over there where u can have smth nice to eat and drink - day and nite time, u will be able to see some nice street scenes in the sense of architecture etc. Address: Bistrik areaDirections: Oposite from Bascarsija. Miljacka river divides those two old parts of the city actually...

in the case you'd stay longer than a week or 2 you could do it! it took me 6 lessons and some home practice meanwhile, to dance the basic one decently...and i enjoy it. so, if u are a she and would like it (age ain't importnant as well as you possible previous dance experience) uz wellcome!!! :D Lessons r usually 2@week (pause in August) ps. as the dance is barefoot, bring good socks, the best are ones for sport-thicker on walking foot area... the rest ain't that important at the 1st lesson anyway. later it will be as u wish pps. and an importantone: no male audience or participants allowed, just US :D:D Address: Kino Teatar 1. Bascarsija is very heart of Sarajevo, an district in turkish style with small souvenier-shops, imbisses, mosques, old small houses and streets. This is the place to visit in Sarajevo. First take a walk through Bascarsija, all the way to Sebilj - a large place with many pigeons. You will pass by the Begova mosque - the most famous and one of the nicest in Bosnia - example of islamic architecture, you can visit and entry it. After you walk and look in the many souvernier shops then go eat Cevapcici - the most famous bosnian food. Also interessting is Sarajevo during the SFF - Sarajevo Film Festival, already an serious occation in the world of film.

Music Pavilion, Sarajevo by sabsi Across the river from the assassination spot you find the nice little Atmejdan park with a music pavilion from Austro-Hungarian times. It' was destroyed and rebuilt and now there is a little beergarden around it - almost as in Englischer Garten in Munich. Just a lot smaller ;) A nice spot for a drink though! Ferhadija is the main shopping street of Sarajevo. The pedestrianised street is full with shops selling clothes, shoes, everything you need in a shop street. There are also all of the major banks as well as a lot of cafes to be found here. This is the street to see and be seen it seems. From Bašcaršija you enter into this street and you feel like in a different world, it feels like travelling from Istanbul to Vienna with only making one step. Sebilj fountain stands in the middle of the big square in Bašcaršija, it is surrounded by pigeons all day. You can see how the local people feed the pigeons, so I guess I know why they are there all the time ;) The fountain itself is made out of wood and it's the symbol of the city and probably one of the most fotographed structures in Sarajevo. For a reason. Together with the spires of the city behind it and the pigeons around it it's a great photo motif. Leave a Comment Directions: On the main square of Bašcaršija
