Plivsko jezero - The Lake of Pliva

by croisbeauty

Plivsko jezero, the Lake of Pliva, is probably one of the most beautifula nature spot in whole Bosnia and Herzegovina. The water of the lake is very clear, while the nature around it practically intact. The lake, and area around it, is suitable for all kind of sports activities; biking, hiking, climbing, fishing, surfing, sailing, scuba diving, rafting, kayaking and canoeing. Be sure to bring your own sport gear .This resort is near town of Jajce in Central Bosnia.

Skiing Olympic slopes

by augustiner

Yugoslavia hosted the '84 winter Olympics and the mountains are still all there. Some lifts have not changed much since then, but the slopes are great. If you want luxury, good taste and great Bosnian food at almost Alpine prices, then check out the hotel on the picture.

River sports

by augustiner

Bosnia and Herzegovina has many beautiful rivers. Staying in one of the camps alongside the river and rafting downstream is one of the best ways to enjoy the countryside. The Neretva river near the town of Konjic is ideal for a family or company field trip during the summer months. The river Tara near the town of Foca is the border between Montenegro and BiH. This is located in a canyon which is up to a 1.3 kilometers deep, only topped by the Grand Canyon. Only this canyon is completely covered by woods, has many springs and is a hikers paradise. Both rivers have drinking water quality and are a great alternative to the summer heatwaves at the coast: water will never get warmer than 15 Celsius, so you better get a diving suit to go for a long swim.BiH hosted the 2009 Rafting World Champs with teams from over 30 countries competing. Other great rivers include Una and Vrbas in the...

Jerry Beckham!

by american_tourister

My pal Jerry (He is English you know) decided to give the local boys a clinic in that English devised and world loved sport known as Football.Of course we Americans call it Soccer but that is beside the point here.Jerry cut and weaved his way amongst the Bosnians and when they expected it least, he stopped and lit up a fag.Being English he was too polite to score on them and embarass them in their home stadium. That is his version anyway. The Bosnian version is that he got his ass kicked!
