Sunset at the Bosnian mountain region by croisbeauty As far as I am concerned, the mountains of Bosnia and Herzegovina are the most beautiful part of the country. Besides the exceptional beauty of the landscapes, with no polution at all, here you'll meet good and friendly people. It is a kind of species you cannot meet in the towns, they are honest, sincere, straight, spontaneous, something that we missed in our everyday lifes. Leave a Comment

Mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina by karenincalifornia The mountains in Bosnia and Herzegovina became much more imposing and rugged as we approached Sarajevo. Little English is spoken in the Bosnian countryside, which forced us to make our crude attempts at speaking something that resembled Bosnian. We got by and the people of BiH were very patient with us, like everywhere else in Yugoslavia. Leave a Comment

Perched on a hilltop above the city of Srebrenik, this place is like out of a storybook. The drive up the mountain is not for the faint of heart--it's full of switchbacks and crazy local drivers. But it is beautiful the way the old houses are perched on the steep. The view gets better and better as you go up and all the while the castle keeps coming into view. It's built into a rocky peak that juts out on a ridge so one needs to take a footbridge (sorry, no moat) to get to the entrance. There are no velvet ropes to keep you back. You can climb all over the rock walls and look at the farmland rolling away in three directions. There is a sign nearby with some of the castle's story in English/Serbo Croat text. The first record of its existence was in 1333. Don't miss it. What history in this place! Leave a Comment

It is enough to make a wish, then to take a sip of water, and it will come true. The water is clear don't be afraid to taste it. There are the stears from Tekija to the water. The Pilgrims Path to the top by american_tourister This is one of the most important shrines in Catholicism. It is located in SE Hezegovina and is between Dubrovnik and Mostar. Two girls state that they saw the Virgin Mary on the mountain and that she gave them a message. No matter whether you believe or not, it is an historical site and is interesting to visit. I feel better already by american_tourister This spa is located in a remote site about halfway between Tuzla and Sarajevo. It is also up a long twisting mountain road toward the tallest mountain between the two places. It is rumored to have water that has "special" powers for men. You can take a guess at what that is.
