After the Stadium you may walk to the local High School. One of the ways to reach it is to walk back to the river bridge near the railway station or if you dare, ask a local to show it. There are two main schools in Kostenetz the School Up and the School Down, so ask about the School Down - Dolnoto Uchilishte:))))
====will finish that later====
Just walk around in the area.
If you are ready to try it, take a little walk with me:
Usually I start from my home, you may start from the railway station.
There is a small subway under the station. Go there.
you will reach a river bridge
the road after it goes in two directions: take the one that goes right - goal: the Stadium
when you reach the Stadium, sit on one of its not-so-broken benches...watch the peaceful area...the stadium keeper usually has guests and if its Saturday or Sunday, they make barbecue in the yard. One of the Stadium parts is under construction but do not bother...its behind your back. Preferable time - before sunset. Could you see the great Rila mountains? The air is crystal clear and orange, there are birds on the trees and usually some kids on the grass. So calm...time has stopped.
On your way to the Stadium, you will pass near: the former communistic main secretary's house - big and brown. Right infront of it the river has small waterfall. after 20 m there is a house with small cottage in the yard - the owner built it just for fun. Watch out or you may miss it. I was about to tell some gossips about people in the local area, but let me be Nice and show some respect to their right of privacy.
after 15 minutes, leave the area through the kindergartens gates. enter the kindergarten. Look through the windows IF THERES NO ONE THERE. All toys are in order, the smell of detergents and youth...could you feel it? there are pictures painted directly on the walls. wooden boxes and wardrobes, small benches in the entrance and small chairs and beds inside. The pictures are: Big mushrooms, big caterpillars, each child gets a personal wardrobe with a symbol: a sun, a cat...mine was a ball:) My name is Theodora, and the ball in bulgarian is Topka - so I know my symbol has something to do with my name.
its filed with warm mineral water, its relatively clean (they wash it every tuesday) and its warm water is pleasant in any possible way. I stay in it for hours, lazily swimming or just hanging in. The pool itself its built into the mountain so its encompassed with firs and highland glades. The air is crystal-clear and in cold nights you may see the warm clouds of evaporating water netting a gentle fog above its surface.
once I have photos I will upload them, but you know...usually people dont bring their cameras on place like this:)
But you can watch movies in the local cinema! The posters are Killers! Someone always adds info with deviant explanations written with red pen
this one reads: super paranormal thriller with Julianne Moore! Cosy hall, PRICE - 1.00LV!!! ($0.75) and the GSM of the owner:-)))
It seems to me people in Kostenets simply love foreigners, especially those other race than European. Once I was there with a Korean family and my mom and her coleagues went into raptures over their baby (it looked like a doll).
the picture has nothing to do with this tip. Guess what is it;-)
just wanted to publish this pic on my bulgarian forum so people could see how Danish look like:-))) my forum can show only on-line pics alas
there are several things you could try here
remember: the city main advantages are:
>>its in the mountainn so the air is crystal clear and you may see amazing sunrises and sunsets. in winter it looks like the stars are going to fall upon you.
>>local people are Really local, the life is peaceful and quite. You cannot find a better place to relax
