I had dinner at the Drushlihvitsa restaurant. The meals are about 5 lv and the wine you must try is the local Rilski Monastery wine. The staff is friendly and can speak English. Breakfast I got at the Bakery: its open during daylight and is next to the Rila Restaurant. It is a good place for cheap and healthy breakfast, selling all kinds of bread and also baked things and yoghurd. Both the restaurant and the bakery are at a few metres from the Samokov Gate at the monastery.

Outside the monastery there are a lot ofsmall restaurants and one of them has a nice view of the back of the monastery... about 500 m after that along the street there are 2 hotels which also offer good food and places to sleep. One of them has 3 stars (As fas as I can remember...).
Favorite Dish: As in all bulgarian restaurants Shopska Salad or shepard salad, than especially for this region trout dishes but you can also take some other typical things... Soon (I hope) on my pages you can read more about our traditional kitchen.
