It starts at the Sandanski Hotel and has a lot of nice places to stay. Best you walk the main street starting at Sandanski Hotel and explore left and right the things. Also some places for children to play inside.

This is a place in Pirin mountain which has become a summer leisure area. There are many good views of the pure nature.

The bus station is behind the market in Sandanski city center. The ticket office and waiting room is totaly renovated and looks very clean and modern now. You can get a lot of rides to Sofia from here (9-10 Lewa one way). Also busses to the smallest town of Bulgaria Melnik are departure here.
Buses are not going directly to Sandanski dont stop at the bus station. They make most time stops at the European Road a little bit outside the city center at the filling stations. There are busses Thessaloniki-Sofia you can enter/leave there with reservation before. Also busses to Petrich are leave people there.

Sandanski Train Station is located 2km west of the city center. Best to reach is to use a taxi, i havnt seen any bus or other public transport going to the train station. There are few train connections on the international route Athens-Thessaloniki-Kulata-Sofia.
Train to Sofia takes ~3,5 hour and cost 7.50 Lewa one way.

Favorite thing: This is a lively and fun town. The main street does not sleep. There are countless bars and restaurants which stay open late into the night. It has a nice park which has many interesting things to see, including odd communist era monuments. This place is dirt cheap ! We had a chicken dinner for four for less than 10 euros, including drinks. I visited in early July of 2007.
