    Exchange offices

    by anna-m Written Jul 20, 2004

You'll find exchange offices on every corner and most of them give fair rates. However, beware of those whose rates are exceptionaly favourable-it is actually a trick, because what is written there is not what they GIVE for foreign currency, but what they ASK!

Unique Suggestions: Look carefully at the rates and do not let yuorself be tempted! :)

Fun Alternatives: Alternatively, you could exchange your money at a bank

A lot of times in my travels i have seen people getting ripped off by a couple of $, because they dont speak the local language or locals dont speak theirs. Merchants will try to charge more that the goods are worth or give you a bigger bill at the restaurant. The easiest way to avoid this is to simply find out if somebody working at the place you shop or eat speaks your language. I apply this rule for all my travels. Even though most people will try to be nice to travellers, some will try to rip you off. Nessebur is no different.

Unique Suggestions: The best way to do it is to follow my above mentioned tip and simply avoid the possible trap.

Fun Alternatives: A good alternative is to just ask for the receipt all the time. Always look at the cash register to see if they dont register a product a couple of times. If you are in a restaurant, have a basic idea of what you ordered.

Yes in summer months there are endless crowds of tourist, you can hardly walk through picturesque streets of old town.
To avoid that, come early in the morning.
