Changing money is not a problem if you go to a Bank or an ATM . In little Exchange houses you must be careful at the rates . A friend of mine received 11 Leva for 10 dollars ! We have changed our money for Bulgarian leva in Constanta , Romania (my home town ) in a bank .See in my picture : the column "we buy " is missing .
Nessebur`s shares its beachline with suny beach. Since this is one of the cleanest beaches in Bulgaria, the local government has decided to protect it. There are heavy fines for littering that range between 400-1000 levs. You are also forced to clean up your mess.
Temperatures in Nessebur can become very high. I suggest that you use a lot of protective oil on the beach. Also drink a lot of water. I also suggest that you wear cool clothing especially during the time between june and august.
Two Swidish tourists have been beaten by the bodyguards of the House club Help in Nesebar in July 2007 during my holiday there. One of them, a 24-year-old man of Iraqi origin, died in hospital after suffering a number of bruises on the body and the head. His friend, aged 26, got already beaten but not so badly.
The accident occurred after a scandal broke up in this House club and the bodyguards tried to stop the fighting. The tourists were to be taken out of the disco club, but resisted arrest and threatened the bodyguards with a knife. This is how it all started, I am not going here to judge who's right or wrong in this tragic incident, I will just advise you to stay away from this club...
You can stroll for hours through the narrow streets of Nesebur, to experience and capture something of its rich and exotic past. But remember that it can be very warm during the day as the sun is shining, so don't forget to drink alot of water.
The Old town is full of small streets and it is not easy to orient yourself there. In most cases you will not see boards with the names of those streets. For that reason it is better to explore on the map the route (if you go to some restaurant or hotel). Even the street vendors do not know some of the streets.
