    Old twon houses

Old City has many houses the second floor of which is wooden and the ground floor made of stone. There are also houses completely made of wood. The yards look very inviting and many locals have their own cafes and small restaurants right in their yards.

    Old "hidden" church

    Old

During the Turkish invasion of Sozopol all big churches were destroyed, but most of the population remained Christian. Small altars were constructed instead, and the "church" was well hidden among the other buildings.

it an easy day trip from Sozopol to drive down the coast to the border and back. There are many great beaches and towns. This was the town overlooking the Border. It was very interesting. Several new beach houses and some abandoned. It just made for an interesting place

    Beautiful Beach

I dont know the name of this beach but it is south of Sozopol on highway E87. We found it on the way to the Turkish border. Even though it was very popular as you can see, it was very natural without all the resorts on top of you.

Sea port of Sozopol is a hidden place!

by trono Written May 26, 2005
    Sozopol seaport

I never thought it's there when I occasionally walked down the street to the sea-front. The first thing I saw was the naval base surrounded by high walls.
