  • Neptune Bar & Restraunt - Sea Lane - Sunny Beach: Great Food, Great Service, Great Night

    by hammer007 Updated Jun 1, 2011

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Me and the wife were walking along the Sea Lane in Sunny Beach and found the above restraunt. It had seating inside and out and what drew us in was they had live music but not blaring out so you couldn't hear yourself think. We sat down and from then on it was a pleasure to be in the place. Our waitress Steffi was great, took us through the menu didn't have to wait for drinks. The food came out and it was superb. Me being a Steak lover, i had to go for the fillet and it was like half a cow. The wife went for a salad and calamari and it was to much but the best bit it didn't break the bank. Due to Steffi plying us with drinks all night when we went back the following day for breakfast the wife asked Steffi where the nearest pharmacy was, her reply was come on i'll take you there and off they went. Jesus this never happens in the UK, staff who actually take care of their customers!!!! I have to say if you go in the morning the English Breakfast they serve is the best hangover cure i've had in a longtime.

Favorite Dish: The steaks were superb and definatly try the salad as her in doors said it was the best she had ever tasted. If you have a hangover definatly try the English breakfast as it Tip Top.

  • Djanny: Excellent restaurant in Sunny Beach

    by mariano00 Written Aug 10, 2010

We went to Sunny Beach ~5 times and found this place near the end of our first holiday there. Since then, we were regular guests. By the way, I was very surprised that manager and boss (who we met first time there) remembered all of us next year. Service is good, food is delicious and meals are really big and I could have rarely eat everything I ordered. With this in mind, prices are amazingly cheap. All kinds of barbecue practically done in front of you when you order. After all, lines you will often see in front of restaurant, people waiting for others to leave and take their place, says enough.

  • FUZEN: Great fusion restaurant

by mellc Written May 19, 2009

This is the best place in Sunny Beach for sushi and Asian food! I ate there almost every day during my stay and tried many of the dishes. I must say, I'm quite satisfied with the quality of food and services there.

  • FUZEN: Unbelievable place - real fusion and sushi

by SandyMA Written Jul 17, 2008

    That place is really unique!

As a big fan of sushi and Asian cuisine, I've been to many places, but Fuzen is something different. It's really a fusion restaurant, mixing different cuisines. The food is absolutely fantastic - it's fresh, tasty and arranged beautifully. I've been a few times already and every time I got one of their sushi sets:), and they also have that Indonesian pork skewers with peanut sauce - just great! I must also say, that the staff is quite friendly and helpful.

And it's not only that, actually the first thing that attracted me was the outlook - they have cactuses in front of the glass walls with bamboo trees behind the glass. It feels very relaxing, plus the aroma that fills out the whole place and the nice music. Feels like you are in a world of harmony!

All I can say is that you should go to that place - will give you a unique experience!

Favorite Dish: My favorite ones are the Nigiri and Sashimi sets, tempura and Satay.

    ice-cream, ice-cream we all want ice-cream!!!

    by andb35 Written Sep 11, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

There are quite a few cafes that have individual ice-cream menues and is a must for the ice-cream lover we went to a fantastic one in sunny beach (will write the hotel it's next to when i check name of hotel). The menu had pictures of the ice-cream creations which ranged from snowmen to donald duck and ones filled with fruits to toffee delights. They all looked amazing and the ones we had tasted great. My husband had one which took the woman nearly half an hour to make but he said it was well worth the wait and we had a right laugh watching him eat it.

Don't forget Nessebar has an ice-cream shop also which is situated at the entrance next to where the buses stop.

    BISTRO BILLYS: MY FAVOURITE

    by andb35 Written Sep 10, 2007

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Bistro Billys is just a short walk from the Iberostar Sunny Beach Resort and we used to frequent this place every night. Billy and his staff are very friendly and make you very welcome. This was our second time in Sunny Beach and over that time we have became very good friend with them all. They are open 24 hours and nothing is a problem for them.

There is plenty of food on offer for everyones taste buds like soups, pizzas, chicken, meats from the spit, lovely shopska salads and cakes and much much more all at good prices(huge pizza is about 7lv if i can remember correctly).

Sit at a roadside table and listen to the music, enjoy your food and drink and watch the world go by.

Favorite Dish: The shopska salad is a must, it is delicious and also the tomato soup is lovely. My kids loved the pizzas (my son made a few of his own) they are so thin, just the way they like them. My husband had some pig off the spit and he said it was really nice. Had so many meals At Bisro Billys and never had a bad one.

Bistro Billys Billy in red top great food my son making his pizza with friends we had met the year before

Pirates Restaurant & Bar: The Best Atmosphere In Sunny Beach!

    by j_dyeruk Written Aug 21, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

This great little restaurant/bar was downstairs from our apartment and we ate there several times during our stay. The atmosphere is fantastic with friendly waiting staff (especially Alex, the guy with baby blue eyes and a long ponytail) and beautiful food.
If your a massive meat eater then this is the place for you, if you are a vegetarian then this is the place for you, if you just want a cocktail then this - again - is the place for you!
Just remember to ask for the garlic bread with cheese if you want a good laugh!

Favorite Dish: Starter - Fried Yellow Cheese or Mushrooms in cream and garlic
Main - Shrimp in Cognac Sauce
Drink - Chocolate Milkshake (the best I have ever had!)

At the pirates... Garlic bread with cheese...Bulgarian style!

Sun: A La Carte (Meaning Small but Delicious Food!)

    by j_dyeruk Written Aug 21, 2007

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Sun (as part of the Sun Hotel) is a very modern, relaxing a la carte restaurant that is located between Sunny Beach and Nessebar.

The food is of an extremely high standard and is reasonably pricey (in Bulgarian standards!!) but be warned...the portions are not what you would be used to compared to other Bulgarian restaurants. Again, cannot stress enough how beautifully the food is presented and how delicious it is but small portions!

Favorite Dish: Starter - Feta and Onion Open Pastry (or something like that!)
Main - Sea Bass with Potato Dauphenoise and Cauliflour Mash
    Dessert - Hot Chocolate Cake

    YUMMMMMMM!

  • Djanni and Condor: Locals know best

by keithjreed Written Jul 14, 2007

    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Have to agree with the tip about Djannis ate there three times in a week. Each night was really good. Don't be put off by having to queue to get in or seeing the locals get preferential treatment, the short wait is well worth it. Just make sure you don't eat lunch before you go in the evening. Also at ate Condor once, also good food but at night time the menu was difficult to read.

Don't expect all the food to turn up at the same time.

Unlike most countries Bulgaria still loves smokers so expect to see people smoking while their friends are still eating.

Favorite Dish: Lamb Saute as a main meal and the Rockforte cheese in breadcrumbs as a starter. Yummy!!!! If you go for the chicken on a rapier don't go for the large unless you like seeing good food go to waste (it was quite dry so make sure you have a full beer ready). There is a good choice of salads. Shopska Salad seems to be the most popular. Don't eat them myself but I am told the tomatos are delicious. Wine was also cheap 8 lev for a Merlot.

  • Las Palmas: So good!

by Piperr Updated Mar 18, 2007

    4 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Food is great in there! What makes it so special is that you dont have to be scared of what you are going to get on your plate. Meals are quite routine restaurant food but still good :)
And about 9 o'clock in the evening turns the place into a bar (you can still have your meal and then just stay in the bar). For some reasons there's lot of swedish in the bar always..

Favorite Dish: I think my favourite dish was cheeseburger meal on lunch time. It tasted really good after spending many hours under the hot sun on the beach.

    Bulgarian Food is Spicy

    by desert_princess Written Jun 14, 2006

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

As a general rule - Bulgarian Food is Spicy - we use alot of herbs while cooking . A typical local spice is Savoury - or Tschubritsa ,that is abundantly used in meat ,cooked beans , mixed with other herbs and salt to obtain Bulgarian's traditional Colorful salt ,called "Sharena Sol". Parsley ,Dill , Celery , Estragon and other herbs are mixed in our traditional cuisine. Our tomatoes and veggies are delicious ,same with our fruits that grow in our lands.
If you look for something typical Bulgarian - bring home one of those jars with Mixed salt - "Sharena Sol" . Look for with a weird face on them - see the second pic. Highly Recommended!!!
