It's been awhile since they disappeared from Sofia - the Bears that were forced to dance by gipsies on the central streets. There was Brigitte Bardot that was said being collecting them to put them in a bears refuge. Anyways - I saw they still torture them in Sunny Beach ,pulling them by the nose through the central alley.This is such crualty ! And no bear deserve this!!!!
Please if you meet them ,do not give them money - maybe they will decide to get a real job if the "bear business" doesn't pay so well..... Leave a Comment

When entering the market in Sunny Beach from the main Road, on the right hand side is a foreign exchange kiosk. The rate advertised looks good but the rate that you end up with is a rip off! Go across the road towards the beach and there are several kiosks that are legit, also a bank on the left going towards St Vlas is secure and reliable.
Ask what you .will get for the amount you want to change or get him to write it down first

You might get offered to exchange money on the streets by being offered a very high rate - do not do this - you won't even see how you'll get tricked. You usually receive paper instead of money bills. Leave a Comment

Be careful if you are down at the beach at night. Have heard that prostitutes lure the men down to the beach at night where there are people ready and waiting to steal everything you have. Heard of one person who fell asleep on the beach while drunk and woke up next morning to find he had been robbed of his money and camera and even the trainers he had worn so just be careful.
The beach is lovely but i would not recommend going on your own at night. We walked along the beach at night with the kids and another 3 adults and we were fine but like anywhere in the world just be careful

Sunny Beach is a fantastic resort it has everything that enyone could need in a holiday stay the scenery, beaches, facilities and good eating and drinking but it is wise to take note of the following before you walk outside your resort.
While your quite safe in your resort area, that is in the built up areas where there is lots of people and as you'll see local police they keep a close eye on the street vendors and give you a scence of security while wandering around the resort.
But as we found out should you walk beyond the built up areas, say to explore another resort say you will be targeted by the local 'Gypsy' adults and children out begging and generaly making it impossible to walk by. The trick is to keep walking, don't stop to make conversation and don't give anything least of all money he may only be five or six but within seconds you will be serounded by others wanting whatever he/she had, they rarly take no for an answer.
The best advice is to take the local bus or taxi to the outlying resorts thus avoiding this problem.
This does not effect the resort and they are in the minority so don't be too affraid just wary, you will be given this information as you travel to your resort as we were so take notice.
Be strong and don't try and communicate with the individuals as very often an argument will lead to others joining in and believe you me they are loud and threatning.
Take the bus or a local taxi they are cheap and frequent. Leave a Comment
