Stara Planina

by bgjulieta

Stara planina or The Balkans, is the longest mountain in bulgaria. It is part of Aples- Himalaya mountain range and it separates my country in northern and southern part. Its highest peak Botev, 2376 meters high which you see on first pic.On other pics I am on other places in this mountain. Last one is me in a cave in the ened of the trek which me and other people (on pics behind me) were making. We weren't dressed like it has to be for a cave and we didn't go deeper. These pics are taken in August 2005, it was very rainy and humid, we had many floodings and the sunny days were rare. That's why most pics are dark. you will see it in following pics. You can see Raiiskoto praskalo waterfall, which is between 90 and 100m high and it is the highest waterfall in bulgaria

Bears in the mountains.

by the___gecko

One of the highlights of trekking in Bulgaria is to see bears in the wild. However if your interested, the Rhodopi and Rila mountains are the only areas where the bears live. The Pirin mountains is considered to be the most spectacular mountain range in Bulgaria, but bears dont reside there.

Balchik

This is the castle of the Romanian queen where she was waiting her love to come back after battles. I went there as a part of an conference of Colour group bulgaria with foreign participants and I had my second exhibition there. ;-)Here you will see:1. The chair where she was sitting to wait him and all the time starring at seaside for his ship. There is a belief that if you sit at this chair, you will have luck in love. :-) This is when you you are single, divorced or with any kind of love problems ;-)2. Part of the castle3. Part of the castle's garden4. A watermill5. The river and a house next to the watermill

The Thracien tombs...

by bgjulieta

The Thracien tombs in Sveshtari are from 4 - 5 century B.C. like the other tombs about which i wrote. Sveshtari is in southeastern part of Bulgaria. The 'Teke' was a place for the Muslims in the past. Near it you can see many textile pieces which the people leave there and they wish something, placing them. Now it is a place for the visitors. Teketo is near Thracien tombs in Sveshtari. Isperih is little town near Sveshtari in southeastern part of Bulgaria. Veliko Tarnovo is the town where was the capital of Bulgaria in the past. There you can see places, connected with our history from the Ottoman Empire. If you walk there, you go in up or down because it is located on a hill. Allthe town is with stairs. Semkovo is one not very popular ski-resort, located on 2618m in Rila mountain.there you can seemany students from different universities. For more information you can go in...
