    trip to koprivshtitsa

by Marchus Written Nov 23, 2013

We just arrived from Koprivshtitsa so I would like to tell you, that it was great trip, we went there from Sofia, we took a train, because its cheaper like by bus, so it costs for 8 people 35,20lv so 4,4lv per person (you have to ask for group discount). Train was really bad looking, but without problem, and then in Koprivshtitsa were minibus , which ticket costs 3lv per person. Village is really nice, and restaurants are also good, so don´t hesitate and go there and enjoy :)

Bus from the Train Station to Town

by Basajaun Written Jun 14, 2013

As of June of 2013, there is not a bus awaiting every train arriving to the Koprivshtica station. I got there with the 11:00 train from Sofia (13:00 in Koprivshtica), and I had got to hitchhicke my way to town. Once there they explained me that the municipality used to pay the bus company to provide that service; but they stopped doing so. There is a bus at 7:40 in he morning that allows you to take the Sofia and Karlovo bound trains.

    Koprivshtitsa Bus Station

by Venelin Updated Jul 23, 2010

The tiny picturesque town of Koprivshtitsa is often left out because of lack of transportation information. There are very frequent buses to and from Sofia and one to Plovdiv. Several trains pass through the town on their way to Burgas. There is a minibus service from the town to the train station timed with train departures and arrivals.

Bus timetables can be found here.

    Korivshita street

From Sofia, six passenger trains leave everyday, that stop at each trainstation. There is one fast train tat takes 2 hours. Watch out: the trainstation of Koprivshtitsa is strangely located in the middle of nowhere, some 10 kilometers from Koprivshitsa. But there are running minibusses between the trainstation and the town

  • Buses from Sofia Central Bus Station

by Gios Updated Aug 13, 2007

As soon as you arrive at Sofia Central Bus station ask for the Local Bus station. Basically it is situated between the Central Bus Station and the Train station; it is full of Bus companies`s booths which sell ticket to many destinations including Macedonia.
From the Central Bus station it takes about 30 seconds, basically go out from the main doors and turn right towards the Train station. There is a tiny Information Booth, be careful if you blink you miss it. They speak English and they will help you. If that fails ask the guys in green jacket who are basically carrying the bags to the buses. One of them was a real pearl and gave us the info.

From Sofia there are two buses run by Nikon Line. Also written Nikan Line. I could not find the booth but you can buy the ticket on the bus from the driver. Bus leave at 1300pm and 1730pm it will take around two hours and cost about 7 Leva (August 2007)

    Hire a car

    The entrance of the village

The best type of transportation is a hired car. If you hire the car in Sofia, you need about a half an hour to arrive to Koprivshtitsa. Also you can go by your own car, because the bulgarians use to say, your (stolen) car maybe is already in Bulgaria ;-)
    Just find it!
