I've been there just once but I've heard a lot about it, it is supposed to be one of Sofia's best live music clubs. So if you want to sample some good Bulgarian rock and pop bands, that's the place to be. One of my favourite bands, 'Te', plays there quite often so don't miss the gig if you have a chance. The club is neither too big, nor too small, and you can watch the band right in front of the stage. I'm sorry the pic is so blurred: too many people dancing around:) Next time I'll take pictures while everybody is still sober.
You can check out what's currently going on there at programata.bg (site both in Bulgarian and English).

Backstage has been there for about five years now. Every night there is a band playing live music.
There are two halls. The one where the bar is and where the musicians perform and one other where you will find 1 pool table.
The menu is quite short and is written only in Bulgarian. It is drinks only + nuts and chewing gums :) The prices are reasonable.
What surprised me when I went there last night (Thursday) that there were not ore than 30 people in the whole place. Usually when I go there the place is packed with people. But I usually go during the weekend, so I guess, if you want to see the place full of peole you should go there during weekends :)
3 leva (EUR 1.50) per person.
Dress Code: Whatever you feel comfortable wearing :)
there are professional pictures of ballet artists on the walls - thats how they won me! its cute lil space with small dancing and I like one of the bands that use to play there - AHEAD, they dont fill my head with their unpopular pieces but perform popular music and they are good in doing that.
The beer is expensive!:-)
Backstage is not Trendy or Popular with cheesy stuff like Latino dancers or semi-naked ladies, so you can enjoy cool small society of people who are middle management staff during the day (like me) and you might meet some famous ballet star as well! Wish you luck with it:-)
