prepare for everything!!!!!!

by ellie-uk

always bring extra baggage with you or bring stuff home, everything is so cheap you won't realise you've bought so much until your packing to go home. if you do forget to bring extra baggage don't worry because you can buy a good sized hold all for around £3 -£4 don't just pack for the good weather because in bulgaria you can never be guarnteed good weather for your whole stay (as i discovered), one day it can be warm and sunny and the next cold and rainy don't worry too much about this i found that all the resorts have medical centres where you can buy the adequate stuff for minor emergencies. a good lot of shops also sell all the necessary toiletries and sun cream. its a good idea to have a life jacket for young children playing on the beach as the sea can be very very rough.

It depends when you are coming, in winter make sure you have plenty of warm clothing, in summer it can get hot, extremely hot Old buildings, fantastic scenery, good wildlife, so all your lenses from super wide to super tele will be handy.

If you go there even in summer, you should take warm clothes. The temperature in August is about 30-35c, but sometimes it rains or rather windy. But my experience tells me, that you won't be able to dress it up, because its really hot there. And it happens so rare, that you can forget about it. Electricity 220v~ You can spend your day on the beach and then go to restaurant and then clubbing, all this time you will be outdoors.

I used a rucksack to go to bulgaria as I had to travel by train, bus plane and taxi to get to the city of Plovdiv!!!! In the Summer the country is really warm so light clothing is essential but in the winter the temperautres can drop dramatically, so take those woolies As I do everywhere I go, take your own first aid kit and if you are not to sure about the medical services of thre country make sure it has everything, I would take toilet roll - just in case you get caught out somewhere and plenty of insect repellant

Suitcase Thermal vest and leggings, ski jacket, trousers etc. Goggles, sunglasses, warm hat, gloves (two pairs in case one gets wet from too much snow) Take tea bags - theirs are weird apple tasting things. Take toilet roll as theirs is a bit thin. Take a small kettle if you can, none of the hotel rooms seems to have a kettle in them.

Avoid suitcases with an additional pocket on front - ours got ripped up badly at Bourgas airport. The roads can get very dusty in the summer, so be careful with your best shoes or they will get wrecked. Feminine hygiene products are very hard to find, as is a pharmacy - take stuff with you. APS film is hard to get, but 35mm should be no problem

Do not plan to cook?

by swetluska

Then take a bottle of alcohol :-) little bit of it every evening will help you not to get enterospasm, when you are not used to local cuisine.

Toiletpaper!!

by Linse

The bulgarians are not generous with their toiletpaper so remember to pack some of that and always have some on u when u are not at the hotel..........believe me it will come in handy.
