Smolyan has two bus stations. One at the Western end of town (bul. Bulgaria) with connections to Sofia and Plovdiv and another one in the opposite direction (Kvartal Ustovo, ul. Trakia) with connections to the Eastern part of Bulgaria. Both bus stations are connected by city buses as they are about 10km apart.
