Favorite thing:
The city is liveliest in early evening when the citizenry turns out for the korso, the traditional promenade. The favorite route is up and down Knyaz Aleksandar, downtown's main street, lined with shops, restaurants, bars, night clubs and sidewalk cafes.
Fondest memory:
On almost any street, in either 'Old Town' or the modern city you will find friendly kafes where you can savor a fresh coffee. juice or soda and plan your day. you will find a warm welcome with efficient, attentive personal service and excellent fare. In sharp contrast to the seeming-anarchy of Sofia the capital, any visitor to Plovdiv will find a relaxing, friendly and charming city.
Favorite thing:
Not that there are many places to go, but the Main Street (Glavnata)is always buzzing with life. It is a long and wide pedestrian-only street, which cuts through the center of town. Tons of shopping and caffes line both sides of the street, but watching the people is the most interesting activity. They all have come out with exactly the same purpose, so do not shy away.
Fondest memory:
Meeting unexpected friends in the middle of the street!
