Perhaps the place to be. Located in the heart of the old town and build on the foundations of the Roman fortifications. In the cellar you can see parts of the old walls. The resaturant’s house has a history. At the place Islam monks had build a temple, which was later enlarged to function as buildings for the city’s government. In the communist period the building had been restored and was a landmark of old Plovdiv. Nowadays it’s a reastaurant with a large menu with especially nice fish dishes. The patio in the back is wonderfull. There are unique dinningrooms. Menu is in Enlish. Main meals are about 5 lv.
PULDIN - an old classy joint, which was recently renovated, but still has the charm of the Old Town and traditional decore, including a circular cafe, and an underground restaurant, in which you can still see the murals from a ex-prominent Communist artist. The food was amazing and the service was great! We went for lunch and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves, but if you go for dinner, you will be joined by many.
Classy Traditional Interior
Favorite Dish: Their soups were out of this world - try any! Also, Chushka Banitsa(roasted pepper stuffed with feta cheese, herbs and eggs, baked individually on a ceramic dish) was an old traditional recepie, which not many people cook, but it was absolutely dellicious!
