The preserve spreads Srebarna lake and the territory around. The most interesting plants there are water-lily, rush, reed, etc - more than 130 types, some of them endangered of disappearing.
The bird world here in incredibly rich – there are such rare and worth kinds of birds – pelicans, stag of a fallow deer, herons, ibises, wild ducks and geese, etc. Could be seen also – otters, tortoises, lake crabs, etc.
There are two telescopes in the museum nearby, where the birds could be seen in details. An echo path is going around the lake – a 2 days walk will be the best to see everything around. We were on a half day trip there and we were lucky to see many of the birds.
Open hours of the museum: 08.00 am- 6.00 pm

It is built in 18th Century from the Turkish called Medjidit. Still some of the locals call it Medjidit Tabia - The forthess of Medjidit. There were 7 m high walls and 3 m width.
The fortress is still in a very good condition. All of the Turkish and soldiers were killed after building it as they knew its secrets. You still can see peoples bones inside the fortress when walking around. It is build on the highest hill in Silistra and the viwe from the hill is amazing.

Just on the coast of The Danube in Village Vetren there is a caravan which is turned into a little restaurant with only 4 tables outside. It is nothing special and they don’t offer a large menu. But the fish is always fresh, delicious and cheap. Enjoy the atmosphere
