well, sad to say but there's not much to do in GT if you are visiting (not to say at all)!Apart from hanging in the cafes and bars as the locals do and just pacing up and down the streets i cant suggest much! GT is a really small town (pop.about 8000).
What i do when someone visits me is to take them to Kaliakra, Kamen Bryag and Tyulenovo, Yaylata, Varna..all of which are by the seaside and only an hour or so away from GT. ALso hanging out in Dobrich is a good idea.
There is a historical museum in town but it beats me when is open. Last time i heard the museum was housing that section of the city hall section where weddings take place (you know, people sign up and some a city hall representative officially declares them married...hehehe).
well if i think of something else "To Do" in GT i'll write it up.
you can find pretty much all of the best bulgarian beer and also imported beer from all over europe; there's tons of different cocktails; food is also served- mostly sandwiches and snacks
Favorite Dish: i love the cocktails- my favorite is "Acapulco" try it you get there; during the day i'd have "white nescafe frappe" or milk&fruit shake
what i liked here is that the menu was created with lots of imaginatin and pretty much you rarely see such a place anywhere in bulgaria; so for a small town like GT this bar is really very innoviative. the owner has put into use all his imagination in preparing the cocktails, shots, menu, other drinks. i was really, really impressed. I went there every day pretty much. For coffee in the morning, and drinks in the evening.
It's right across from the park so it has really nice green view.
Favorite Dish: oh, you can try the waterpipe there too (aka hashisha, nargile)
i rarely go out to eat, because my mom and my grandma are the best cooks ever. And is a small city, so just ask people. Come to think of it, i know that there is a small restaurant on your right-hand side, when you enter the city. It's right behind the gas station---the food is delicious though!
Favorite Dish: I love the fresh: "shopska salad " and the cheese "paniran kashkaval". I'm vegetarian so i can give opinion only about meatless dishes, but the other dishes seem delicious too!
Yep, i love this place...come here at night too. The reason is that it offers drinks that you can't find at other places and is very cheap and the music is good and the service is good and there are promotions all the time. ALso for every drink you buy you get points. If you get certain amount points you get a bottle of Vodka for example..."frequent drinker program you can call it"! :)
I love the cocktails- my favorite is "Acapulco". Most of the cocktails are unique!

There is a fast train from Sofia, departs Sofia at 9.20pm and arrives here at 7.33 in the morning. This is the best way to get from Sofia especially if you get yourself a ticket for the sleeping car.
From G.T. to Sofia, there's again only one train daily; leaves at 9.08 and arrives in Sofia at 7.13am.
The ticket price is about 18 leva, and the sleeping car ticket is 10 extra leva.
If you are driving by and you need groceries, there are plenty of private shops both along the main street and pretty much on every side street. Most of the smaller shops are usually in someone's yard so even if it;s closed you can knock on the windowns and people will open for you. Grocery shops carry nearly everything.
For everything else locals go to Dobrich and/or Varna. There are few small shops that carry clothing but seems like they're not the best fashion or price.
Also there are three pharamacies along main street. One is in the very center and the other two are further down nearby the hospital (direction Kardam).
There are two internet clubs in GT; one is located right in the middle of the main street, while the other is in the( the gymnasium.
The club on main street does look representable but has only three computers and the service is awfull!!! Computer kept crashing and i had to reconnect million times and although it wasnt my fault i was still charged for all the time i was there on the computer; the person is absolutely rude and i felt like i was disturbing him and also the menu on the screen was in turkish and asked the person to change it but he did nothing...after another rude remark from his side i got pissed and decided to go the the other place which i've always used.
The gymnasim club looks little but run down and is full with funny kids playing games but at least i've never had troubles with the net or with the service and the gamers are pretty friendly and helpful. I stronly reccomend using this club!
