Most of Varna's city centre is pedestrianised and on every street you will come across an elderly person with a weighing scale who will weigh you for a few stotinki and maybe have a few bits of bric-a-brac for sale too. These people seem to be perfectly harmless, just trying to make a few Leva to supplement their (if any) meagre pensions and there is no con involved. Leave a Comment

Pretty much everything in Varna is written in Cyrillic, particularly in the beach bars and cafes. There's not much concession for tourists who aren't familiar with this scary looking alphabet.
Here's a brief guide -
è - a backwards N is an 'I'
ù - is 'Sh'
ñ - is 'S'
ä - is 'D'
ç - is 'Z'
ö - is 'ts'
æ - is 'Zh'
ã - is 'G'
í - is 'N'
â - is 'V'
÷ - is 'Ch'
á - is 'B'
ô - is 'F'
õ - is 'H'
ï - is 'P'
ð - is 'R'
ë - is 'L'
There's a bunch more, but these are the basics. It's best to go with the basics first, but the most confusing part of cyrillic are the characters that look like Latin, but in fact do something different. Hope it helps! Leave a Comment

This locality is a geological miracle with out parallel in the world. The
stones are so huge that the fossil forests in Argentina and India pale in
comparison. Seven groups are scattered in a circle with a radius of 3
km. The Dikilitash Group comprising 300 big and small
Scientists have been arguing over the origin of these works of nature for
man)- gears. We simply gaze and rake pictures. The scene is
magnificent when the miraculous forest is looked at against the
backdrop of the setting sun. Moonlight makes the picture even more
