Hi - I wrote the report below about Jokers Bar.
I returned to Varna a month or so after I wrote my report, only to find Jokers bar in Varna had closed days earlier!
The good news is that the rock band (fandango) have moved another few hundred yards on the opposite side of the same road (Slivinitsa) to another good indoor venue called `Musica E'.
The venue is equally as good (if not better), and there is other live music being played, in-between fandango's sets.
The only downside is it is 5 levs entrance (which is quite expensive by Bulgarian standards).
Alcohol is a little cheaper than Jokers was though, (I think).
As far as I know Musica E is only open thurs, friday & saturday nights and doesnt really get going until after midnight.
It's open all year though, next to the entrance to the beach & sea gardens, and is a mixed age audience.
Jokers is a bar/club in Varna's biggest hotel, more geared toward the 1960/70's western rock generation, though it is mainly young Bulgarians who make up the majority of the audience.
Joker's Bar have a fantastic Bulgarian band that boast that they play in Joker's bar more than 360 nights a year! The place really rocks when there is a good Bulgarian crowd inside.
They play mainly Brit & American soft & heavy rock hits, from the era mentioned above, as well as some Bulgarian songs.
It is a little on the expensive side by Bulgarian standards, but well worth it, especially at weekends.
It is a well-known place for Bulgarians to celebrate birthdays, engagements etc.
The bar is on the 1st floor of the tallest hotel in Varna. Cherno More Hotel (Black Sea hotel), right on the main tourist street, (slivinitsi), near to the beach.
Note: The bar doesnt really start until after midnight, 7 days a week, but it only really gets busy on fridays & saturday nights.
I have been going to Varna for several years, and it is the best nightspot that I have found for the 35yo+ western crowd, at weekends.
1st floor, next to The Hotel Casino.
Do not confuse this bar with the cocktail bar on the top floor which is far more quiet and sedate. It's a fantastic view across the city from up there, though.

It’s a night club, well it’s also working as a café during the day. There is one in Plovdiv and in Varna too. They play disco and electronic music, they have famous DJs invited very often. It’s good for chilling with friends, dancing or showing your new clothes.
Dress Code: the most fashion you have
you have got to go and see dido and the girls at the pub and bar on party street, golden sands, what a welcome we received, we were there when liverpoolwere playing and they reserved tables for us, all 14 of us!!!! nothing is too much for them, beer and spirits dirt cheap, food especially breakfasts very good, say hi to dido from debi, jimmy, sam and pam from liverpool, we were there in may 11th 06........bye
The place gets really crowded on weekends while the band bearing the club's name is performing cover songs on stage . Joe Cocker , Bon Jovi , Status Quo - you are getting the picture....
The Club was open on the 4th of April 2003 and is the only club in Varna covering an area of 400sq meters and offering live music. The Tours of nearly every Bulgarian band or singer pass through the club , which makes it a preferred place for fun. The club is equipped with high class sound equipment - Electro Voice and Bose . The light equipment is provided by another leader - Martin. Alibi offers a cozy atmosphere and excellent selection of drinks . The club's menu offers lots of spicy dishes , and even for those that want to stay fit.

Arrogance is located below the Captain Cook Fish restaurant close to Flag Hostel, you don't have to use your imagination much to realise where the name comes from. There are lots of big mafia types round here, if you're going here don't get too drunk or act remotely aggressive.
There are plenty of open air night clubs along the beach area in Varna in the summer.
Copa Cabana is only one of them. I like it for the latino music.
I hope you will also enjoy it
Dress Code: You can wear what you like. You just have to be prepared to have great fun.
One of my favorites....a karaoke club/bar. It's a new concept in Varna and people are just starting to try it. It was actually the first weekend for the club, brand spanking new. It is conveniently located inside the Black Sea Hotel and right beside the casino. Met several locals, one of them is the married couple right beside me. They graciously took me the next day to an authentic Bulgarian restaurant and we ate, drank and spoke for about 5 hours. Thanks Tedi and Tisho, I enjoyed my short visit to your country.
Dress Code: Dress to impress but jeans is okay.
Roxy is a German disco in Varna Golden Sands. I love the music they play, old songs from 80's and 90's, but also new hits. They also play some German songs that I don't know, but that didn't really bother :)
And Roxy is also a really good place to meet cute German guys! =) I found one very special boy from there. Unfortunately I haven't had a change t contact him sence.
Dress Code: Noup!

If you're not tired after all night parties, you can easely find a bar where there are people dancing also at 3 pm. This picture is from Zlatni Pyasatsi and as you can see it was quiet a party - people are dancing even on tables!
Dress Code: No dress code at all....it's a beach party so most probably you'll be wearing your swim suit, right?
Comics is also an open-air night club with great athmosphere. It is situated at Varna beach and the DJ's are playing house/deep house/techno in the afternoon - only few steps from the sea and, off course they also have all night long parties.
Bulgari is also a restaurat, but in fact it's a great nightclub with great athmosphere and great Bulgarian music. It's an open-air club and in summer time they have about 3 concerts of Bulgarian singers per week. If you wanna party with locals and you like this stile of music, the night will be unforgetable.
On monday's there's a true mens striptease, the entrance fee is 20 leva -includes all your drinks.
Dress Code: Well some girls were so courage that they've danced on stage.... without any dress ;)
So this show can be interesting for boys too (have I told you for the free drinks???)
Bonkers is a disco situated in Zlatni pyasatsi, about 18km north from Varna. It servers pop-dance music and it's full of tourists - don't expect to party with locals here. There's also a striptease bar in separate place.
