Primorski swimming complex is completely new built in 2010. It has 2 big swimming pool and a little one outside and inside there is another swimming pool. There is also a fitness center and a SPA center. It is situated at the South beach of Varna, just next to the port and the railway station, in the beginning of the Sea Garden. The prices are 3 lv/adult and 1.5 leva/ kid per hour. It is working every day.
It was time for Varna to have such a complex and finally it’s done. It is even enjoyable to sit and just watch the swimmers and the sea
If you're missing your favourite football team whilst here in Varna then this is the place to check out. They have one big screen and three or four other wide screen TV's. When there's big games on SKY (from all over Europe) they usually have several showing at the same time.
During the day time and early evening this is a relaxed, informal bar and during games you get quite a partisan crowd of locals cheering on their respective favourites. The bar itself is quite trendy but beer prices are reasonable.
Update: this should now be the ABSOLUT BAR but the same location, just maybe a different frontage.
Because the new Swimming Centre uses the naturally warm local spring waters you can swim perfectly comfortable in the open air pools even in the middle of winter. If you enlarge the pic you'll see that the life guards are well wrapped up.
I should imagine it'd be a bit of a dash for the changing rooms after you've had your swim tho'!
Varna has one of Bulgaria's most modern municipal swimming and spa centres, officially opened in June 2008.
The swimming complex boasts an outdoors Olympic-sized main pool and a couple of smaller ones, all using the naturally-heated local spring waters. At the time of writing (Nov 2009) the cost is 3 Leva per hour for adults, with half-price for students and pensioners.
The spa centre offers a range of therapeutic treatments, massages and baths with costs varying depending on the chosen option.
For participants and spectators alike Varna's indoor sports arena offers every imaginable option. This is home to the National Volleyball and Basketball teams as well as several local sports clubs. The main Congress Hall hosts both National and International competitions whilst the four smaller Mladost Halls provide venues for a full range of indoor activities from karate to table tennis. There's also a modern fitness centre, gymnasium, solarium and sauna.
On the cultural side the main hall is used for concerts, cinema screenings and exhibitions.
The Trade and Business Centre has a variety of meeting rooms, shops, bars and restaurants.
Go to Vinitza with a group of friends and take part in the go karting, it should cost 24 leva for a competition of 12 laps, (this is the tourist price) Watch that first corner, it's a killer
