GOLDEN SANDS ,4km long , is the largest beach resort on the Northern Black Sea coast. It is situated 19 km north-east of Varna, 490 km east of Sofia. Golden Sands is set on well-wooded terraces, the last foothills of the Balkan range reaching down to the sea. Its four kilometre beach slopes gently into water which has no dangerous currents. There is a wealth of sporting and other facilities available, all very moderately priced. Water-skiing, wind-surfing, paraskung, snorkelling, tennis, volleyball, mini-golf and croquet can fill the visitor's day, and a choice of restaurants, bars, discos and nightclubs provide evening entertainment. The beach is really gold. Sand is clean and pleasant for walking. The water is very warm in July and August. Sunbeds and umbrellas are payable. Leave a Comment

Varna comes to life at night time. The cathedral looks amazing when it is all lit up. During the day it is a beautiful building but at night it becomes spectacular!! The markets stalls look like side shows at a fair with the single light bulb dangling above the seller's head. Its a vibrant city that you must see by day and by night to get the true feel of the place. Leave a Comment Address: Varna CentreDirections: Black sea coast

We enjoy people watching so when in Varna just sit outside one of many numerous cafes, with a drink in your hand and people watch!!!! The fashion in Varna is great for the younger ones, and the shoes are to die for, just one thing I would like to know, "do the girls feet really fit into those pointy pointy shoes ?" Fantastic 7k long park that runs along side the beach. Lots of interesting models and statues adorn the many pathways. Great for walking, cycling or blading. Many different plants and flowers, and a small "zoo", and a little fairground for the children. So after spending all your money in the shops you could come here and sit and relax just to watch the world go by. Leave a Comment Directions: Just before you get to the beach

This beautiful cathedral was built between 1880 and 1886 and is the third in size in Bulgaria (largest is the Aleksander Nevski Cathedral in Sofia). It has very colourful murals from the late 1940ies. Admission is free, but if you want to take photos inside, you'll be charged 5 BGN. The cathedral is open from 6am to 10pm. It is located in the center of the city. I am surte you will like it. Just be very careful with your handbags and rucksacks in the central region and busses as there are many jypsies there and you will not notice when they steel your wallet. Leave a Comment Address: Kozirkata bus station

Varna's Archeological Museum has an amazing collection of artefacts from Varna's distant past. The oldest ever found items made out of gold are displayed here. They originate from a necropolis near the centre of Varna and are about 6000 years old. Apart from that there's a lot more gold to see from Thracian origins aswell as Greek and Roman ceramics and sculptures. There's also a large collection of medieval icons on display. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm, Admission is 10 BGN. Leave a Comment Address: ul. Maria Luisa 41Phone: 052/237 057

But not so past... Communist regime in Bulgaria collapsed in 1989 and the country is still full of communist monuments which are quite impressive. Usually this monuments are connected with the defeat of brave communists over nazis. These monuments are speially interesting for me as I was born in Yugoslavia which used to be full of similar monuments. After the independence of Slovenia our new goverment didn't wast any time and collaps all the monuments that could indicate any connection with regime in our country.
