On the way from Delphinarium to the center of Varna you pass Primorski park. There is really nice childrens park with many activities for children jumping on trampoline, small cars, trains etc. Price is really low - you must take your children there. Leave a Comment Address: Primorsko park

by jani79 But not so past... Communist regime in Bulgaria collapsed in 1989 and the country is still full of communist monuments which are quite impressive. Usually this monuments are connected with the defeat of brave communists over nazis. These monuments are speially interesting for me as I was born in Yugoslavia which used to be full of similar monuments. After the independence of Slovenia our new goverment didn't wast any time and collaps all the monuments that could indicate any connection with regime in our country. It is a bit sloppy and the information are sometimes in Bulgarian and English or Bulgarian and Czech or German or Russian or French ... so beside admireing the fishes you can also practise one of above mentioned languages. Admission (for foreginers): 3 leva Leave a Comment

by jani79 Third biggest Roman ruins in Europe and, off course the biggest in Bulgaria. The therms were built in 2nd century AD and Romans enjoyed there by bathing in freezing cold water, tepid water or hot water. Only a small complex comparing to original is still preserved. Leave a Comment

*( I've found today the most amazing thing in the middle of the city!! Roman thermal bath ruins!!!but the most amazing part was that I was the only visitor!!! well It has a fence ,but I found a hidden entrance just below a building! and the complex is as huge as a temple.all this to myself!!! can't believe my luck...I just had to climb a small fence , and made a step into another world.I was walking and imagining...what everything looked back in the days . The place crowded with naked people taking a bath , moisture and steam in the air ,voices... I just wanted to take a couple of shots as my friend was waiting for me , but I had to walk further and further , and from one room to the other , into underground caves,stairs.....damn!! It was awesome... it's like finding a lost temple amid the concrete jungle of the surrounding buildings - you wouldn't resist. It took me about half an hour to make the whole tour.As it took too long , I didn't went to the underground galleries that you'll see on the last pic. hey ,but the stone with the inscription - it's Greek ) If you want to see the full gallery of pics , click here > Roman Bath Ruins - photo gallery Leave a Comment

The Sea Garden stretches for about 8km along Varna's coast. It's a beautiful park and it's always full of people. Inside the park you've the zoo, an aquarium, a delphinarium, a terrarium and a planetarium. So the perfect place to keep you busy, even if it's raining. The park was designed by the Czech architect Anton Novak and opened in 1862. Leave a Comment

Varna has a couple of Roman ruins and biggest are the Roman Thermae. The original complex is thought to have covered an area 7000 sq metres, only a small portion of it still stands now. The baths were built in the late 2nd century AD when Varna (Odessos at that time) was an important Roman port. You can wander around the ruins Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Admission is 4 BGN. It may be a bit of a cliche to say that "the best things in life are free" but it is, in my personal experience, quite often the case. Here in Varna one of my favourite places is the magnificent Sea Garden which sprawls northward from the city centre for several kilometres following the Black Sea coast. The Sea Garden (sometimes referred to as Primorski Park) is one of Europe's largest city centre public parks with an area of about 90,000 square metres and is an eclectic mix of both formal and informal cultivation. Many of Varna's main tourist attractions are situated within the park including the Dolphinarium, the Observatory and the Varna Aquarium as well as several cafes and restaurants. What I especially love about the place is that when you get off the main promenades, with their sculptures and monuments, pleasant though these concourses are, you really can just escape from the city and surround yourself with birdsong and the vegetal scents mingled with those of the sea. On one of my meandering wanders I had a bit of the park pretty much to myself until I came across another like-minded guy. This guy was just standing on the dirtpath, transfixed in his own solitude, listening to the birds and breathing deeply. This was one of those times where you don't need to have a shared language in order to be able to communicate as he greeted me and said (in Bulgarian) what I would assume was "Isn't this beautiful, listen to the birds..." I stopped and we stood a while in silence before I replied (in English) "Yes it is..." We shared a smile and parted company having shared a small moment of humanity and each set up for the rest of our day with the shared smile and the birdsong as our day's highlight. Leave a Comment Address: Off Primorski (at the city end)Directions: Basically between the city and the sea. The main colonnaded entrance is at the bottom of Blvd Tsar Osvoboditel but the park can be accessed pretty much anywhere.
