On one part of the island there is a Way of Cross. Each Station of the Cross is shaped as a chapel and a small church stands in the middle of them. Very peaceful place to meditate in a deep shadow.

A boat is waiting to take us back to Punat. All of us were vrery impressed with the interesting trip to this island which enriched us with cultural and historical facts.
I hope, one day, I'll revisit this island again.

As I've mentioned before, the island is rich on flora, and among many different plants and trees, this beautiful park of olive trees should be mentioned. If you enlarge the photo, you'll see they crop heavily.

Cruciform cloisters od the Franciscan monastery on the Island Kosljun. Archives and library in monastery contain over 20.000 volumes, some of them are invaluable rare copies.

Over the centuries, monks who are the only inhabitants in the island, has preserved many valuable manuskript and books. There is wealthy Etnographic museum with numerous fisherman and farmer's items and also folk costumes from across the Island of Krk.

If you're staying in island Krk, I highly recomend you to visit island Kosljun too. This tiny island is only 200 meters from Punat. It is reachable with taxi boats from Punat The price is around 2,00 Euro.

Kosljun is known for its Renaissance Franciscan monastery. Monks are the only inhabitants of the island whose total area of 6,5 ha classify it among the nature remarkableness. The island is rich on flora many different plants and flowers and over hundred diferent types of mushroom.
