    Since the town of Sisak is an typical Central European settlement, it has Gradska kavana (the City Cafe), which is usually situated in the very heart of the town. Here you can meet middle-ages and elder inhabitants of the town spending their free time in sipping a caffee and chating. It is definetely the best place to catch the city news and gossips.

    Dress Code: The ordinary city clothes.

Sisak Transportation

  • Savski camac

    This is typical river rowing-boat, made of wood, you may see all over Croatian rivers. The local inhabitants use it for own transportation along and across the rivers, for fishing or as the gunning punt. It is not recommendable to use it without escort of the experienced locals.

    In case you like bird watching, especially the storks, there are plenty locations for that activitie in the surroundings of Sisak. Most of them are nature protected areas where hunting is not allowed.To get to those areas, you'll have to take the local ferry-boat at Graduša Posavska.

    Rooftop of the wooden houses, in particularly the chimney, is stork's favourite location for snugling. Perhaps it is because early spring nights might be pretty cold and at that time the locals still warming up their houses. On the other hand, it is the highest point of the surrounding area, best position for monitoring the frogs.

    The view at the local Ethnological Museum across the river of Kupa. The town of Sisak existed in Roman times, known as Segestica, and you can see a number of exibits from that period in this museum.

Sisak Tourist Traps

  • The River of Kupa

    The left bank of the river Kupa is turned into the city promenade, while the right one in beach resort. There are plenty of people on both banks of the river, traying to refresh in the water during the hot summer days. Although theswiming is allowed I cannot recommend it.

    Miscellaneous: Artists love Sisak, because its such a clam ,relaxing place, somewhere where there is no hassle, just beauty, calm and quiet..If you like that, then this is a great place to visit.
