    Dubrovnik Airport is actually in Cavtat which is about half an hours bus ride from Dubrovnik itself. Many carriers operate flights to Dubrovnik from all across Europe, although there is a lack of Budget options to Dubrovnik.
    British Airways, SAS, Croatia Airlines and Aer Lingus all offer flights to Dubrovnik.
    We flew Aer Lingus from Dublin to Dubrovnik and although paying a little more than we would usually pay for short haul flights (300pp including taxes) we got a relatively good deal considering we booked well ahead of time and the flights had gone up to about 700pp a month before our departure!
    We also had the option of flying with Ryanair to Zadar (190pp including taxes when we checked) and onto Dubrovnik from there but that would involve a 8-9 hour journey, although you could break this journey with a stop in Split.
    BTW Due to the airports location between a mountain chain and coast, the landing in Dubrovnik can be very choppy with wind currents flowing down the mount ain to the sea. Diversions are common!

    Dubrovnik Intl. airport 20 km from Dubrovnik center, near Cilipi. Buses connect the airport with the Dubrovnik bus station.

    • I used BA for my trip - breaking all my own rules. However, it was only 170 return from EDI via Gatwick and too good to miss.

    It went without a hitch, so well done BA. Their staff at Dubrovnik were remarkably friendly and helpful (like almost everyone I encountered on my trip).

    Transiting Gatwick is a bit of a bummer, but not as bad as Heathrow.
