    While walking, I saw some people walking up the wall around Dubrovnik. Asked around where I could follow their paths. Found the entrance/steps. Paid the ticket & captured more amazing Dubrovnik sceneries ! There are some steps on the left of the entrance as you coming in, so go up the steps to get your ticket & off walking to the Dubrovnik Old Wall...

    You would have noticed that the colour of the roof is orange. As what I noticed as I travelled up the Dalmatia Coast, most houses would opt for the orange colour of their roof tiles. Why not blue or green ? Anyway, the explaination : Clay or terracotta tiles are among the most eye-catching and characteristic roofing materials used in medieval buildings. The shapes, colors, patterns, and textures are often the most important stylistic features of the historic structures. Although they can last for centuries, the average life span of the terracotta-tiled roof is about one hundred years.

    Dubrovnik is has a small and compact old town that is encircled by very tall defense walls that are in extremely nice shape today. Towers and garrisons are also very well kept. A must see....

    I was impressed oby the thickness of the fortress's walls..it looks like them can support any kind of attack..they are indestructible

    It costs 15KN, or about 2USD to gain entrance to the city walls. Believe me, if you go to Dubrovnik and miss the walls, you'll miss out on viewing some remaining war damage, great views, and spectacular sunsets.

    Lean out a little in the exterior of the walls and you will sea the rocky strip of beach below the walls. There were actually people there tanning.

    There are towers at a few of the corners along the defense walls in the city walls. You can climb up them and take in the spectacular views of the Old Town, ocean, and harbors.

    Yes, this is indeed me on the walls of the city. The pleasant weather and the beauty of the fortress makes you forget your daily troubles and makes you buy a flat there and continue your life in that peaceful low pace rate.

    My scenic view over Dubrovnik Old Town. Scenic to the bone ! At least from this view, it looks like the other coastal towns lying so many along the Dalmatian Coast maybe because of the orange-coloured roof tiles...
