Mlini is only a small place and really once the summer season is past and the beach is not in use there is not much to do here. I'd read of waterfalls being here but they were rather disappointing - more of a trickle down a slight hill in the stream bed :-S.....but here's a few pics for what its worth.
Perhaps we should have investigated further up for imore impressive views ?

The beach at Mlini is pebbly and was quite deserted on the overcast October day of our visit - I guess in the summer months it would be a bit busier with the tourists staying here at the big hotel.

Mlini is a small fishing village on the northern coast of the Bay of Zupa, only 11 km east of Dubrovnik. In former times the place was known for its water mills ('Mlini' means 'Mills') because of many brooks and streams here. Its a small place with delightful stone houses, many resplendent with autumn foliage. We combined a short visit here on our way back to Dubrovnik after a visit to Cavtat.

    Restaurant Lanterna

by peterdhduncan Updated Oct 30, 2011

Konuba (Restaurant) Lanterna is a popular restaurant in an attractive position looking out onto Mlini's small harbour. It serves good meals, and on both of the occasions that we ate there it was extremely busy with the proprietor struggling to accommodate everybody who wanted to eat there. It was adviseable to book in advance!

It is situated only a few steps away from the Villa Mlini where we were staying.

    Restaurant Astarea

by peterdhduncan Updated Jan 15, 2009

Konuba (Restaurant) Astarea is situated a short distance back from the shore, and, consequently doesn't have a view out over the sea. However, on the occasion that we went there, the food and service were good, and our meal there was more relaxed than the ones we had at the Taverna as it was less busy.

It is a short walk away from the Villa Mlini.

Favorite thing: Is there anything better than a walk on the sand by the beach after a wonderful dinner, in one of the most attractive small towns in the world? So, keep walking beside southward from the center beside the restaurants and as soon as you cross the small bridge just keep walking on the beach on your right! Nirvana.

Fondest memory: That bench was occupied from two other tourists and that light coming from the ground, it was great. No better location for a band (Motherstone) picture!
