Mljet has excellent condition for numerous sport activites: swimming, fishing, kayaking and canoeing, diving, snorkeling. Diving school is next to Hotel Odisej in Pomena.

Cycling: you can rent bikes in Polace in Pomena, there're no cycling paths alone, so you share road with drivers of other things. There are in general more hilly than flat areas on the island, but if you'll go cycling in National park area you won't need special training (well, experience, condition, whatever you call it) and can be easily and safely done with families (car are almost absent there), especially around the lakes.

Hiking: Mljet has numerous hiking trails of various difficulty levels to take you to most inhabited areas of the island, through forests, rocks, grass and fields, by the shores, to the tops and to the coast, depends where you'll walk. It's the most pleasant way to get around.

Equipment: Boots for hiking, swimming trunks, sun blocks, sun glasses, mosquito repellents, hats and light clothes, rucksak with snacks, food and plenty of water.

Don't forget glasseses for the water (for the snorkeling), the undreworld is breathtaking with diverse fauna and flora and coral fields. It's the best swimming you'll have in really clean water which comes with excellent clarity and blueness.

Recreational fishing can be done by using at the most three lines with not more than 3 hooks.
Recreational fishing is allowed either from the coast or boat from sunrise to sunset.
Recreational fishing is forbidden during night.
One can catch not more than 2 kg of fish per permit per day.
The catch can be more than 2 kg only if it is the case of one fish heavier than 2 kg.
The catch from recreational fishing can not be sold.
